Awakened Mind
I have just listened to Michael Bunting from The Awakened Mind's webinar on 'How to Manage Emotional Exhaustion within Yourself and Others.' He provided some wonderful theory and practice to help leaders be more mindful and deal with difficult relationship issues in the workplace, but he also shared some very practical suggestions in relation to feeling our feelings, not being anxious about being anxious, seeking support to discuss but not fix our concerns, to increase our self awareness by observing our body, living according to our values and being more interested in our values than other people's response to them and whether or not they will like us if we stick to our values. He also briefly touched on dealing with a narcissist and prompted us to ask ourselves what we don't value about our self if we continue to be in a personal relationship with a narcissist (who will only change if they want to change). Avoiding our feelings happens through repression and addiction - both having negative consequences. I learnt a lot and am truly grateful for his insights at this challenging time for so many people in their life, work or enterprise. Thank you Michael. Be well, Sue Ellson :)
