Cook & Mason where to begin...Situated opposite the heritage/derelict Royal George building this restaurant/bar has all the charm of a hip drinking establishment in the heart of Carlton VIC. I came for the brews, stayed for the service and left because it was getting late. My advice: Kick off your weekend here for lunch and stay until the late hours of the evening! A George St gem that’s here to stay!

Super nice interior! Fantastic service! Food quality is perfect, only we didn’t fancy the flavors. A lot of strong flavors. The homemade bread was really good. And the wines beautiful.

My whole experience at Cook and Mason was brilliant. My girlfriend has a difficult food allergy so I phone ahead to see if the menu would be suitable. The effort for customer satisfaction was incredible. Polite friendly and very accommodating.On arrival, the atmosphere is relaxing as soon as you walk up the stairs to the alfresco deck. All the waitstaff are friendly and genuinely welcoming.Every dish we had was a joy to eat. Craig took us through the menu and explained what the chefs would do to accommodate the dietary requirements. The skill of the chef was evident with the substitutes that they made and out while night there was a great experience from beginning to end.Their cocktails are also definitely worth it!!

I was initially disappointed to hear that Barque had closed as it was fantastic. But this is a more than special replacement. Food is delicious, service is impeccable and the whisky sours are top notch!The stand out aspect has to be the care and attention the owners and chefs put into the ethical and sustainable sourcing of ingredients which positively impacts the environment as well as the flavour of the food. I'll be heading back here again, more than once.

A beautiful establishment with delicious food. Craig looked after us and kept us well fed and kept the drinks flowing. We had the chefs selection which provided us with a great variety of dishes. Definitely recommend this culinary experience.

Winter afternoon long lunch for a family birthday. Amazing service and food. Will be coming again in a heartbeat. For a family of foodies (and those that were scared of sharing) were surprised and thrilled!Definitely do their $65 set menu - fantastic value - sustainable, free range, amazing

Was very excited to try out this place as love the concept of seasonal produce and a good charcoal grill. However it failed to deliver. Food wasn’t at consistently high standard and ranged from great (oysters) to average for most dishes. It was the service during our meal and especially at the end of our night that left the worst taste in our mouths. We were told that there was no dessert other than cheese offered by the restaurant. We questioned that a restaurant would not offer any type of sweet but were told the size of the kitchen prevented it. On walking out of the restaurant you can imagine our surprise then when we heard a waiter describing a dessert option to other diners!! On returning to the restaurant to question this apparently the original dessert had failed and they had cobbled together an alternative after we asked. We were very disappointed with the response from the manager and communication around the issue and not really good enough from a restaurant trying to operate at that level. Sorry guys but won’t be back.

I can’t remember the last time I had such a great dining experience in Perth. From the moment we arrived we were treated to wonderful service by a variety of fun, friendly, chatty waiters. We were not pressured to order quickly, we felt very at leisure the entire night. The beer and wine list on offer was sensational! Every sip was an absolute treat, and we thought it was very well priced. Food was also fresh and delicious. Lovely ambience put on the back deck - great vibe without it being too busy or noisy. Will definitely be back!

I've eaten here twice and enjoyed the first time so much that I grabbed a group of friends and came back for more. Just as exciting with the menu constantly changing. Can't fault the food or service. Caitlin arranged a set course menu with paired wines for a group booking and it was spot on. I love their ethos, supporting local producers of food and wine that is fresh and seasonal.
