A tasty Canadian menu on the shores of Bellerive Village with lovely views over the water. Nice and cosy inside with outdoor seating available too complete with Blankets and heaters if the breeze gets brisk. Thoroughly enjoyed the Pancake stack with bacon and caramelised banana, Cheese omelette and the Benedict eggs on sour dough with collard greens.

Absolutely delicious Canadian influenced spot just outside of Hobart. The mushrooms on toast were fantastic and the pancakes and bacon were top notch, served with the best honeycomb pieces we'd ever had!Helpful staff and a lovely balcony to enjoy our brunch in the winter sunshine.

Booked online for Mother's Day brunch for 9am. Apparently there is a message when you book online saying that you're booking an hour sitting - didn't see that, but ok, that's fine. Arrived at 8:57 but were told we were early and could we please wait outside (note that it's freezing this morning and we had 2 small children with us). We weren't allowed to wait inside as there were other bookings coming in. We were seated at 9:10 once the family at the table before us had hurriedly finished up and the table had been cleared. Drinks orders taken straight away, great! Coffees came at 9:30 which is when the server came to take our order. So ordinarily this would have left 30 minutes for us to order, the food to be cooked (keeping in mind the restaurant was booked out) and for us to eat (with 2 small children), however we were advised we could stay until 10:15 as we had lucked out" and the next booking wasn't until then. Sorry

All the harbour views, food and staffs are exceptional. We ordered the cheese omelette and crab scramble, both are amazingly cooked and had just the right portions for two of us. The staff was really friendly as well.

The lumberjack breakfast is a luxury for me every so often. It's expensive, that and a coffee will set you back about $35, but it is bloody delicious. Fluffy, seasoned scrambled eggs... gorgeous potato hash... chorizo, bacon, pancakes and spicy maple syrup. Wowee. LOVE IT. It's lovely to sit on their deck in the summertime and look out over the bay, too.

Lovely atmosphere with beautiful harbour views. Excellent staff and customer service. Had the Montreal Beef Sandwich, it was the best steak sandwich I have ever had! Will definitely be back!

We went there around 4pm & were served the afternoon snacks menu. We did the hockey puck with salted caramel, the soft cheese & sourdough & the hummus, dukkhw & fried bannock.Would love to go back to try their dinner menu.

How aboot that, a Canadian brunch cafe in Australia!I highly recommend booking in advance as they are popular. There is underseat hearing which keeps you nice and toasty. The coffees are nice and strong and the food is excellent. The Poutine is spot on, with the right amount of gravy and curds. The salmon and crab croquettes are stuffed to the brim with seafood and very tasty (but not that big). I loved the fried cauliflower grain salad the most.

Staff, food and atmosphere were all amazing. Got the banquet and it was so delicious and there was so much food they packed up what we couldn’t finish - and we eat a lot. We will be back

Gastown East is one of my top two all time favourite brunch spots around Hobart. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.Food is absolutely delicious, service is always great and quick and the view is amazing.Highly recommend Gastown!
