Kids First Children's Services | Occupational & Speech Therapy Sydney

The centre is very complete. They have all type of services and it’s convenient because all the therapists are connected and have a better understanding of my child’s needs.About the therapists, the director is very careful choosing a team member. Each one of them excels in their field which has given my child the opportunity to achieve the goals we thought were unreachable.The director of the centre has a great human side that shows genuine interest for the well-being of the children and their parents. I highly recommend the centre as a first option to take your children for therapy for any need they have as once again, I can tell you (my child takes 4 different types of therapies), each therapist has empathy, integrity and honest interest in help the children to achieve their personal goals.

My daughter saw Texon Xu for speech lessons and he helped her enormously in a relatively short time. Tex is patient and clever at explaining complex things to children and adults. Tex put a lot of effort into each lesson, no week was ever the same, and they were always fun and creative. I always felt as though Tex cared as much about the outcome as I did. We learnt a lot and we made lovely friends for life at Kids First.

Sonja and Kirsty at Kids First are absolute stars. I just wanted to thank the team at kids first who really helped me with my son . They have given me the tools and confidence to help my son with his writing skills. I could not recommend kids first enough as they create a space that is fun and calm for the kids ( and parents!).

The best thing about Kids First is the fact that they have so many services under one roof and so you get so much more than what you might receive if you just took your child to a single purpose practice. We found staff to be friendly and professional and my child not only loved going to Kids First, but also improved out of sight in a very short time.

I can't recommend Kid's First Children's Services highly enough. The centre has an incredibly nurturing environment. When I sit in the waiting area I often notice how each child, upon arrival, is treated with such warmth and positive regard by staff. My daughter enjoys coming here for her maths and language tuition. Sonya, the director, is very engaging, knowledgeable and experienced, as are Vicki (teacher) and Felicity (speech pathologist). I think the advantage of this centre is that the specific learning or therapeutic needs of a child can be addressed holistically, given that it offers such a wide range of services such as occupational, psychological and speech therapy, as well as tutoring. As a parent, I also feel very well supported by staff, who are always very helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful experience at Kid’s First. It is a warm, friendly, nurturing environment and I am so grateful for the help they’ve given my daughter with speech lessons. They are patient and kind and make these sessions fun. I am so glad we found Kid’s First.

My daughter sees both an OT and speech therapist weekly at Kid's first and has been for many years. I can't rave about them enough. Sonja, Rhiannon and Texon are a huge part of our lives and they go above and beyond making my daughter reach her highest protentional (and what a difference they have made). I have written emails to Sonja (Director) at 7:30pm on a Friday night, stressed and confused about the NDIS and she has called me straight back, explaining things to me, putting my mind at ease which isn't even her job! We are treated like family and I am always recommending them, and continue to do so! Thankyou Kids First xx

I cannot speak more highly of Kids First Children's Services. I have 2 boys both with ASD and in the time we have been using this service my husband and I have both seen remarkable changes and progress in our boys! We use all the services provided and as for Sonaj, she goes above and beyond to help parents! When I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year not only did she pick up and drop of the boys to their various therapies she even did all of my washing I couldn't do AND she is still helping us as I go through chemo. I don't know ANY other service with the dedication Sonja Walker and her team have towards the children they look after and the inclusiveness with which they look after families! I found our experience at Kids First simply fantastic. When my Year 9 son started OT sessions, his fine motor skills were 5 years behind his chronological age. Less than 3 months later, his handwriting speed was in the average range for his age and he'd gone from being able to write a paragraph to a page in 20 minutes. The wonderful OT gave him the tips and tricks he needed to write quickly and legibly so that his teachers could read his work and he could show what he knew. Highly recommend Kids First to everyone, such welcoming, friendly staff who are highly qualified and know their stuff.
