Best Western Plus Apollo International

Good place to stay. Clean, very polite staff, nice pool and comfy beds. EV charging in basement for guests. Recommended if you need a well located good place to stay for work or with family.

Pros:- Big rooms.- Good price.- Located right on the main street but still quiet.- Full mini-bar with fair prices.- The pool is small but well situated.- Lots of free parking spots.- Rooms have a nice balcony with table and two chairs.If you drive an EV, there are charging stations.Cons:Horrible breakfast as the buffet ($18) was incredibly poor! You can order a hot plate to make it combined $26 but doesn't worth it (drive 3 minutes to find out lots of cafes with much better options). Lucky we didn't book as breakfast included so had breakfast there just once.We also ordered a pizza for my son which was cheesy but partly burnt!No toilet brushes as many other hotels visited in NSW.Side lamp's not turning on.The TV in one of our rooms was an old Samsung so unable to cast from the phone or tablet.No tooth brushes in the room.

Great place to stay as a couple bunch friend or with family. Great friendly customer service, room always clean fresh comfortable. Location close to shopping centre pubs. Just always a pleasure staying there.

Stayed at this place for the second time while visiting friends in Newcastle. Better room this time, bigger and renovated although view was of the highway instead of the bush. Love the free tea coffee, fresh milk and bickies they provide in the room. Place also has a gym and expensive restaurant onsite (didn't use the latter). Check in experience was somewhat unwelcoming - we arrived an hour early and were begrudgingly allowed access to our room with no charge for the extra hour. No issue if the room wasn't ready, and motels have certain policies, but the experience was a bit unfriendly. Regardless it's a good motel and we'll likely stay again!

Stayed here on many occasions and never had one bad experience. Staff are always accommodating and polite. Spotless rooms and the beds are just so comfortable. Food is absolutely devine.

Beautiful views, but staff's lack of attention to detail ruins the experience.Cons:- Found a pillow full of fungus in one of the drawers that probably hadn't been opened in months.- Rooms smelled very dank, which is interesting because the closest beach is about 3kms away and it hadn't rained either.- Bathroom exhaust fans weren't working, so mirrors were always foggy and smells did not dissipate.- Found a hair under the wine glasses.- Housekeeping put our plates from the night before outside, but then no one picked them up until a whole day later.- Restaurant staff was rude and in a rush for breakfast.- Overall, attention to detail was low.Pros:- Location and views were great!- Pool and gazebo were a nice touch too!- Shower water pressure was great!

Don't listen to the staff comment below!!!!!!!!!!! We tolerant noise very well but not this time in this hotel!!!!!!! Hotel itself has a problem with old building!!!!!!!!! If your next door makes noise, your trip will be ruined!!!!!This is the worst hotel experience in my whole life. Don’t go to this place if you want to have a good rest or a quiet place to sleep. Can hear every single word next door talking and the toilet flush few rooms away wakes up kids. Terrible!Adding up on this. The building itself is an issue if they do not demolish and a build a new one then improve your service!!!!! Next door people were having crazy birthday party. We seek help 9:30pm for the first time as our kids sleeps very early the staff said they cannot do anything until 11:00pm they can tell the next door to keep volume down. They also insisted it was from downstair public area. However our room was in the end of corridor nothing downstair!!!!!! We asked to change room and been told there was no room left. So we could not do anything but to calm our kids. Finally at around 11:30pm kids fell asleep(They usually sleeps at 7:00pm), and next door still very loud. We asked help again, and the staff eventually get us a new room key (initially the staff said they do not have spare rooms). Now we have to wake up kids again to change room!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worst service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Around 1:00am in the morning we finally finished changing room and shift baby from level 3 to level 2 and they do not have lifts which is more ridiculous. Finally around 2:00am we could sleep. And 6:00am in the morning kids woke up because of next door toilet flushing.

Had travelled from Canberra after a family emergency and was in need of a shower and sleep.Was recommended Apollo International by a relative, and Richard helped me secure the very last available room over the phone.Upon arrival, Rachel was super kind after I’d already had a rotten day, and helped me into my room after I had a few issues opening the door.She even gave me a little bit of extra relief with a late check out so I could have a sleep in, which I am very grateful for as I didn’t have the best sleep due to everything that had been going on that day. A little bit of kindness from both staff members made a stressful time easier to deal with.If I ever need to travel for a family emergency again, I’ll know exactly where to stay! The bed was comfortable, the room was ‘roomy’ and the heating/cooling was just right. The shower was also pretty darn good too!

Extremely rude staff who think their hotel is the best thing when it’s really just a glorified motor inn. Charging over $400 for 2 nights and was spoken to so rudely by the manager and one of his staff members. Got to the point where we were told that they don’t want us staying there. Firstly they wanted a $200 holding fee on top of the cost of the hotel. How ridiculous. I then commented that the hotel already looked ruined so I don’t know how we could ruin it. That’s when everything got so bad to the point my weekend was ruined. I had taken the Friday off work for a valentines weekend with my partner. Booked the hotel weeks in advance with rose petals to have a nice time which was completely ruined. Avoid this place at all costs. Also take a lesson in customer service especially when the customers are paying your wages.Update: They have now fraudulently charged our card after kicking us out for a comment made to a friend on my phone and when calling to have it rectified we have been hung up on. Extremely unprofessional and feel that this place has no respect for women and has targeted me based on my race.

The room service and the view from my balcony is amazing. Apple pie with ice cream is so good. And it's so nice that breakfast buffet has lactose free milk. Thanks staff Richard, Rachel and Maxwell for the amazing service. Will come back.
