This is the kind of place that makes you redefine what you consider excellent food.Have to go here more often. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is so good and the staff are so nice.My partner and I arrived late, well after normal lunch. The staff were extremely friendly and the kitchen gave us a special large serving of the rice congee. It was mouth watering and made me want to try learning to make it at home (not that I could come close to theirs) The salmon blini was delicious too.Next time I need to choose a place to bring someone I know exactly where we're going!

Everything was incredible..Staff we're super friendly, the Cafe had such a lovely vibe to it, especially sitting outside.The coffee was amazing, I ordered the eggs Benny and it has to be the best eggs Benny I have had, the eggs were perfectly runny, they had a nice light chilli spice.Run don't walk.. go try the eggs Benny and delicious coffee.

Just about ideal brunch spot. Full of people (we booked - the wait would have been 15 mins). Despite the crowd everything was crisp and friendly. Coffees were excellent! We had pear and walnut loaf and salmon gravlax. Both outstanding. Next time we are in Newcastle we will be back.

Great table service, every team member was a standout with their representation of their training.Breakfast is always consistently tasteful and the coffee is 7/10 with its flavour.You might need to wait 10 minutes During weekend peak times but make the time for what this business is about to deliver to you and have no regrets.Plan ahead for time to park your vehicle.

Wow! WHAT A VIBE! Plants thriving in such a nice outdoor setting. The lychee peach tea was extremely quenching for such a hot day. I had the native crumpets which were just the right portions. Would’ve preferred more wattleseed flavour as personal preference. Great friendly service! Will be back for sure!

Suggested by a friend, Autumn Rooms on Darby Street in Newcastle certainly delivered to us with friendly and efficient service, great food and really lovely atmosphere.We arrived and were seated promptly in a comfortable location inside, yet there is also dining upstairs and alfresco, both to the front and rear. Offered a coffee or tea since they have an extensive tea menu. If you’re there later in the day, alcohol may also be on the cards for you. Coffee was a lovely flavour, a little too cool in temperature, though the second one was better.The menu was intriguing to us, for the options were a little outside the box, something we really like at cafes. Our choices were “Tabasco Tomatoes” (VE) - a lovely serve of Tabasco and lime cured tomatoes, miso and almond crema, tabasco vinnaigrette, chilli crunch, served with a side of roti. We added a poached egg. The Tabasco flavour was not overbearing and despite having a chilli crunch, it was not spicy, but brought a really lovely set of flavours to the dish.We also had the garlic ricotta Tartine (V) which saw the toast topped with a garlic Garlic honey whipped ricotta, roasted asparagus, gremolata, pickled radish and toasted almonds. This was super good, though probably could have done with an extra slice of toast.The food was delicious, albeit a tad small in our experience for the price. Next time, I’m keen for the crumpets or torts. Be sure to check out their menu as there’s so many great options.

I just love the Autumn Rooms Vibe. Unlike a lot of contemporary designed restaurants with their cold, sterile interiors, the Autumn Rooms wrap comfortingly around you and invite you to relax, breathe, and enjoy some time away from the city's hustle and bustle. Food and service is excellent. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food. Wonderful vibe/ atmosphere. Lovely staff. Great coffee. Bit expensive but that's the price you gotta pay for perfection. I ate the lamb ciabatta and loved literally every mouthful. Definitely a great date spot also as the vibe up on the balcony is gorgeous. Love love love.

A true Darby st institution. Delicious large meals. Wide variety of drinks iced and hot. The best chai in Newcastle. Be sure to make a booking on a weekend so you don’t miss out.

This place turned out to be more than I expected. Lovely place with heaps of tables with multiple seating areas. Loved the decor and amount of plants. The service was amazing. I spoke to Sam while booking a table and he was warm and super nice. We were a group of girls who wanted to have a leisurely lunch with cocktails and food. Everyone we dealt with was lovely and ready to accommodate even when they were super busy. The food was top notch and delivered with a smile. The options for cocktails was limited but we enjoyed what we ordered. Great place and I would definitely go back again.
