Awful. Miserable front of house staff. Food was terrible, really small servings for the price and fatty chunks of meat that looked like cheap frying steak. The menu sounded delicious but the reality was disappointing. Wish we’d walked out after seeing the dishes arrive but wanted to give it a fair go. It is vastly overpriced, this is Gympie not Brisbane. We spent $140 for two adults and 2 kids and walked away feeling like we’d been robbed. Chairs are fabric and look worn and stained. The wait staff were nice, although I asked for table water on two occasions and never received it. I felt for them though as I bet it’s an awful place to work. Won’t be back and do not recommend eating here.

I've lived in a few regional towns and thought we'd give these guys a go again. Let's just say it screams of a restaurant that holds a monopoly in town and the locals don't have any other choice so why both trying. Unfortunately it felt like this from front of house staff to the quality of the food. Disappointing and I hope a bit of pride comes back into the work place here. It could be something really special for the people of gympie.I'm not normally one to share a negative review online, but the waste of money was frustrating. For travellers passing through maybe give this place a miss, despite the cue of loyal locals.

I really hanging for sweet and sour fish, so placed an order to take away.It was Friday, late afternoon, yet the meal was ready in under 15 mins. The food quite simply exceeded expectations. The sauce was perfect and not packed out with chunky vegetables; and the fish was perfectly cooked and tasty. Portion sizes of fish and rice will let me get 2 good sized meals from thos order. It was one of the best S+S fish meals I've ever had, and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend Dragon Garden Restaurant.

I visited again in November 22 for lunch having a prawn and ginger dish and a combination bird nest which was so special. I can highly recommend the food here .( old post I did) This visit we dined in for lunch. We ordered a Chow Mein and Scallop dish, both were delicious. Service here can vairy depending on how busy it gets but that's the same everywhere, today we had 5 star service. The restaurant looks average from outside but it has a preasant decore. I have had takeaway here and it has always been very tasty.

This place hands down has the most rude counter staff member (the miserable old grumpy lady) I’ve ever encountered, the rest of the staff seemed fine though. The bbq pork dish I ordered was basically a container of fried onion. Avoid. Any positive comments are surely friends of the restaurant.

The sweet and sour pork was extremely dry miserable pieces of pork in dry rock hard batter The pieces where like they had been in a food warmer for a day. The manager said that is how the dish is served. I have had many sweet and sour pork dishes in the past and that would be close to the worst. The lemon chicken was just slightly better but had to be sent back to be heated up.

Stopped in here to grab food to be reheated for dinner, as we were travelling up the highway. Yes as it cooled it went straight into the Engel fridge. We arrive at the motel and reheated our dishes in the microwave. Well my BBQ pork consisted of 3/4 of an onion and seven little pieces of pork. Hubby had chicken, cashews and veg. He reckons that the one tablespoon of hoi sin in the dish was watered down to make a sauce and veg was straight out of a frozen bag. Yes, Mr chef, you know that too. Bloody disappointing and disgusting food. Hope that the locals have better chinese food restaurants to choose from. Big fail.

Waitresses were nice and friendly. Restaurant seemed clean enough but the food was bland. No taste really at all. Nothing special for the money. We bought 2 of the Top selection dishes. Nothing special about the Special Fried Rice. Lady who took money was really disinterested. Glad she didn't ask me how the meal was. 2 x dishes, 1 × Rice, 2 drinks $94.
