Star Hair Salon

I love this suburban hairdresser / barber shop, and so does my wife. I don’t require a lot of attention as I am bald on top and always get a ‘Number 2’, but Star is in a great location and I can nearly always be accommodated at short notice. Run by a Korean family the staff are always friendly and obliging.

Appointment needed. The salon is located at Beulah park suburb. Three or more hair designers are available mostly weekdays. The boss was really kind to the customers and the most important thing is she knows what kind of hairstyle customers want. The price for cutting hair was only 15 dollars that haven’t changed for few years. That is so reasonable price for everyone. Usually it takes around 15 to 30 mins to have your haircut done. I definitely visit here for my haircut. Going to be a regular.

Took my son for a haircut today. The young lady took roughly 5 mins for his haircut and charged me $20. Good rate for her!! I am not fussed if she did a good job. But my son’s haircut didn’t look like what I asked her at the beginning. Won’t go there again…there are other places that are far better value for money.

A friendly neighbourhood salon. Me and my son are a regular here. $22 for a standard men's hair cut. The place is clean and hygienic. They do take walk-ins but can get very busy over the weekend, so getting a prior appointment is recommended.

I had booked for men haircut today. My ref photo is men style. But when I made a payment they cost me $25. I asked ‘Is it correct?’ and they said this price for women. I am very confused, is my face looks so sweet as a woman? And one more thing, they didn’t clean the cape before they put it on another customer.

22-11-25 The best thing about this saloon is there is only 1 haircutter and she is pretty good. Unlike some Korean salons where you get a different haircutter everytime (I cut my hair every 2 months), with a different outcome.Original review:Really good value for money! Super efficient. After reading many good reviews plus recommended by friend, decided to try out this saloon. The lady boss n staff are very nice n she tried her best to communicate in English. I thought she understood what I wanted n proceed with the service. To my disappointment the cut us really bad, she layed too much n to my surprise she used a thinning scissors to layer the hair. Unlike other hairstylist, they took sections of hair to cut in order to create the layed look. The job was indeed super fast like within 10mins. I m ok with speed as long as the job is nicely done. She did checked the final look which is good but I walked out of the saloon feeling very sad for the next few months. The cut is so bad that I couldn't bring myself to put the after cut picture. Plus the place is very badly kept. No customers n the floor was covered with cut hair. I came out of the saloon, n whole body itched.

Not too busy saloon but you will need to have an appointment before you step in. Hair dressers are chienese and they dont understand english well. They are slight cheaper than others because they are not too professional. If you are looking for a budget salon then it should be your perfact fit in Kensington area.
