The Rose & Oak Cafe
Excellent service that was cheerful and helpful with really good food. The servings were delicious and reasonably priced. Interior was comfortable with lots of local lovely art, plants etc, very busy but chilled.

One of the best restaurants in Clunes. The best part is the huge serving size. You ask for fish and chips and it is humongous. The house made chips are really tasty however I would prefer shoestring over the steak chips.The pricing may seem a bit high for a town this size but trust me, you going to get surprised when the food is delivered. I ordered the chicken schnitzel burger and it was huge. An ultimate protein power house.The coffee was delicious too. Very friendly staff and despite the fact that I was the only brown person dining at restaurant, I felt very welcoming.The fish and chips is a must try. If you are chicken eater like me, the burger is a must try. I would love to visit again and enjoy their spacious outdoor seating - closer to nature.

Full on the outskirts de, delightful on the inside! What a chance stop over at Clunes!! Turn out to be such a beautiful ex mining town on the undulating landscape - not boring a all! The once a month market was packing up as we arrived! We scout around the higher side of the street for a suitable place for lunch…. then to this store with chairs outside.. it was past 1pm and most people have left.. and the restaurant is also on the slowing down and packing up…. until we walked in…. The shop owner was shocked to see the 8 or so more customers that follow suit as we walked in! I just love the openness of the back garden setting, the light offerings for lunch… the owner even made up for a small glitch in her offering ! We are happy and will be back for more!

The chicken schnitzel burger was huge, and the accompanying cuppa really hit the spot. The outdoor seating would normally have been chilly, but the beautiful winter's day made it very pleasant outside for our cycling group.

Bought takeaway serves of the apricot slice and a passionfruit sponge cake. Yum, yum, yum.The lady that's served me was lovely and patient.Cute logo stamp too!

Food was fantastic, exactly what we had expected. See photo.Freshly served breaky with perfectly cooked eggs. Staff were friendly and caring.Loved the coffee and Mango smoothie. (Almond, Soy & Lactose free milks available)A constant flow of customers - must be good.

Get the Chicken Schnitzel Burger!Partner and I order chicken schnit burgers every weekend, sometimes both days. They are huge and always delicious. The schnitzel is always crispy, the salad is fresh and bread prefectly toasted, every time.The staff are lovely, this is a true small town cafe. The minute I walk in, they know my order. Coffee is also great!
