Accor Vacation Club

I have been a member for a very long time, so so unhappy as of late and embarrassed to even recommend to anyone of my family or friends. I’m just done with Accor, regret buying it and cannot wait to get it off my hands. A warning and piece of advice - Do not buy into this!!!!!!!!!

I sat through the 90 minute one on one presentation which was really just a hard sell which I already knew it would be. They asked lots of questions about where we wanted to travel for the next 20 yrs or so, all just to work out an overall cost which was really just to work out our membership cost. That figure was $69,000 plus the annual fees of at least $1100 which really is $22,000 over the course of my travelling life. So now we are at $91,000 but that doesnt include the various booking fees and some room cleaning fees. If you travel to places overseas then there is another $204 booking fee per week. There would be other hidden fees I'm sure. The sales people were very friendly and jovial all the way until about the 85th minute when suddenly it all became cold at the moment we were not interested. It was quite disgusting the way they just turned. The words used were well your right to go now". Then we were directed to another sales person who tried to sell us yet another product for $495. Luckily I had done my research and read the reviews so I knew what to expect. I think the salesman knew that too. Overall I think this membership is a rip off

Such a scam! Don't buy into it. There are VERY limited properties included in the club properties with always limited availability even months in advance. Fees for everything and cancellation policies that are ridiculous. Not worth the money or the effort. Save your money and book your holidays elsewhere!!!!

Great holiday savings. Worth every cent. Great appartments. Awesome deals. Makes you feel special. We all want to feel special.Go on just do it!

We have had our membership since 2006. No regrets. Have loved it.Have let our kids use it also.Got our points returned to us through covid-19.Office people are amazing.I think you need to make sure you buy a membership that let's you book your holidays, at least 1 year ahead.Planning on going to Bali next year with kids and grandchildren. Saving 2 years of points. And saving us probably $5000 of accommodation.

I have been a member of AVC for nearly 4 years now.We were lucky enough to stay at The Sebel Flinders lane Melbourne for Christmas and new year in Dec 2020/jan 2021 then last Christmas we stayed at the Sebel darling harbour, this year we’re staying at the Sebel palm cove Cairns again for over the festive period. We’ve also stayed in Oakridge Wanaka NZ and St Moritz Queenstown NZ, Also legends and Fresh water point on the Gold Coast!! I can not believe how wonderful ALL these resorts/apartments were, staff were great. Scenery,facilities and things to do are all different in each one . But one thing for sure they were all fantastic comfortable stays. I’m so glad I joined AVC I’m now looking forward to using it in Europe next year. Just seen the refurbishment at the Sebel Twin Waters 5 mins from where I live and they are outstanding!!Happy travels everyone!Kind regards Dawny Spivey

We were lucky enough to take over a membership from a relative, we have only had to pay the annual fees, and had some amazing holidays. The apartments are huge and beautifully decorated, had some fabulous stays over peak periods in awesome properties, works out much cheaper than paying the retail cost of accommodation.

I've had a couple of holidays but we've had to take our children out of school to go. It's very difficult to get dates and location you would like. It's more financially sensible to book your accommodation with the hotel you desire directly choosing the dates that are suitable for you.I don't feel part of a club. I feel like a bottom feeder taking the leftovers.

besides the difficulty of using my points during Covid19 and now. I have accessed the hotel select option as another way to use my points. however it's difficult and frustrating as the rules etc are not user friendly. also when I spoke calmly to the manager on the phone she accused my of of arguing with her. but she kept trying to talk over the tip of me.I have verbally abused anyone in my life.this makes me want to get rid of my Accor membership
