Disappointing experience place was packed with tables either side of each other and chairs backing onto the next. Two items on menu ran out at 7pm. Waited an hour and 15 minutes for entrees only to get mains?? During first hour constant stream of takeaway orders were going out. Chef mucked up, clearly understaffed in kitchen front of house did well under pressure. I get it is a holiday location and need to make it when you can but not a great experience. Food was pub quality at best. Great room though.

The Old Fire Station Restaurant in Mansfield has started to gain something of a reputation for good food and a quirky atmosphere.The menu is extensive with something of a German-inspired touch to what you can order. I had a steak that was large and the entire portion size was more than I could fit in and did appreciate the locally grown produce. The specials are also worth checking out and I was told they change regularly. The beer and wine list are great both local and international. Delicious range and choice.The building is historic and holds some of the interesting features of its heyday.Kid friendly with crayons and paper for them to use, plus high chairs and a generally relaxed atmosphere for everyone.I would suggest making a booking if you're going for dinner as it does get busy. Staff were so helpful and nothing was too much of a problem.Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking. Outdoor dining.Will return.

Great home cooked food in a charming atmosphere. If it's available definately have the chicken Kiev it was delicious as were the veggies and scalloped potatoes that came with it. Yummy! The arancini balls and pancotta were delicious as well.

The steak is nice, environment is perfect.Enjoy dinner at here.
