If you're looking for a convenient place to to stay in St Kilda look no further.... So long as you don't mind being kept awake all night by the sound of trams, making the fittings in the room rattle as they pass, the shouts from revellers in the street, a very tired bathroom and accoutrements that came straight from the Reject Shop. Room was spacious enough and bed comfortable but the place reeked of successive cheap renovations and could really do with some double glazing.

Great location if you’re going to a concert at the Palais. Room itself was ok. The mould in the bathroom was off putting. The noise outside was able to be heard most of the night. If you are just staying there for somewhere to rest your head, it’s not too bad. We had a two bedroom apartment but only one room had air conditioning. It was tempting to stay in the living area with the air con on.If you are taking a car, try to take a small one. The car parks are allocated and there was not a lot of room.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Staff here are great! Only negative for me was the wifi connection frequently dropping out.

Great place to stay. Clean rooms, very pleasant staff and The Galleon Cafe is right across the street for an excellent breakfast or lunch.

My son and I stayed at the Cosmopolitan for 5 nights in early November. The accommodation was fine, if pretty basic for the price. The family room we were was very spacious, which was great for letting the little guy crawl around and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very sparsely kitted out - from memory ours had a kettle, some tea/coffee, a couple of teaspoons, a small amount of milk and some water glasses. I was able to borrow a plate, a knife and a fork from reception - if only I had asked earlier! The shower in our room fluctuated from extremely cold to horribly hot, which would be unpleasant for an adult, but made bathing a baby pretty difficult/dangerous. I mentioned this to reception staff, so hopefully it's getting fixed. My disappointment really came after I checked out. I accidentally left a nice dress and a denim jacket hanging in the wardrobe - I didn't realise until I had flown back to NZ. Having paid a chunk of money to stay there for several nights, I assumed it would be no problem for the hotel to post the garments to me, but when I called them, they told me that nothing had been found in the wardrobe. We had about four conversations over the course of a week and each time I was told the front desk checked with housekeeping and that nothing had been found. The clothes were hanging there when I left, so someone, at some point, must have moved them. It may have been accidental or it may have been deliberate, but either way, I'm disappointed. There has been no apology or compensation from the hotel, instead they have doubled-down, saying: The hotel has a zero-tolerance policy regarding proven employee theft

Stayed at this hotel one night and wish that I didn’t!After checking out of the hotel I later realised that I left my Apple charger plugged in next to the bed so called the hotel for them to keep aside and I would collect. The receptionist then proceeded to tell me that nothing was found in the room by the housekeeper. This frustrated me considerably as this now was a matter of, the rooms are not cleaned properly or the housekeeper decided to keep it! After communicating my frustration, I was then told to contact the manager by email to tell them the problem. I was also told that they had several other Apple charges that had been left by other guests that I could come collect. Which was strange as when I asked what the normal procedure was when a guest left an item in the room they told me that they contact them…..So the following day, I drove over an hour to collect an Apple iPhone charger to only be presented with a dirty charger that was not Apple IPhone….. very disappointing and not good enough! The hotel housekeeping staff are either pocketing guest items or are not throughly cleaning the rooms (Yuck!).I would definitely suggest staying elsewhere. I paid $220 for the room, however I have now paid $376 for one night stay in a dingy room and a Sunday wasted by travel and having to purchase a new charger anyway. However, if you don’t mind not knowing if the room you stay in is thoroughly cleaned or if you may have your items stollen. Go for it!On a side note, if the hotel is willing to provide a solution. I’m happy to remove ‘every’ review I post.
