The Stables of Como
Nice setting but the enclosed outdoor area was a bit off-putting with pigeons settled on tables eating the leftovers of recent patrons.They carry diseases and were walking all over the tables which I never saw wiped before the next guests arrived. They were just hustled away.Lovely food otherwise - but I would only sit inside the building itself near the register / kitchen area

When I visited como house, I came this caffeine too. I had a latte and scones. Their scones were so delicious! I would say best scones in Melbourne. Very nice and beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff.

A hidden gem located in a busy suburb. Surrounded by the lush Como gardens and the herritage mansion. Lovely atmosphere, gorgeous outdoor & indoor setup. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault any. Great cafe to host even a party as they have plenty space available. You also can hire picnic rugs and do a picnic in the gardens. This is a kid friendly place. Have enough space outdoor to park the pram and move around. Highly reccomend The Stables.

Quiet cafe nestled within Como's grounds and greenery. Selection of brunch and lunch items, sandwiches and lots of cakes/muffins etc. The cafe has great outdoor seating for warmer/sunny days. Staff very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

If you're looking for a place with a French countryside feeling, look no further than the Stables of Como. Located in the heart of the South Yarra, this cafe provides the perfect combination of sunny outdoor seating, healthy fresh food, and mimosas to wash it all down!!

Lovely area with gardens to browse, however, the food was pretty basic. I had a ham toasty, which was smothered in oil and came with really salty chips. Would have been lovely to have a nice salad or nicer seeded bread to make it a bit more special. Very much what I might have expected a kids lunch to be like. Shame because the website and area were beautiful.

Heard good things about this place, but this experience was disappointing. It really does feel like a tourist trap.Firstly, there was no-one directing patrons to tables, we had to walk up to the counter to find out if we could just sit down or if we had to wait for a specific table.Next, the server had to check with the kitchen as there were “major delays” on the pear Pain Perdu. She then came back and told us the Pain Perdu wasn’t happening at all today. So begs the question, why lie? Just tell us straight that the Pain Perdu isn’t available today.Whilst the food was tasty, the portion sizes were abysmally small.The Cheese Toasty ‘Croque Fromage’ was so small - child sized really. And there was only one sad strand of caramelised onion.The Como Jnr had great fries, can’t fault that. But only one side of this sad sandwich was toasted? Absolute fail.The plate that the Como Jnr came was also dirty, looks like a beetroot stain?

Food: Decent variety and decent quality.Service: Very quick and friendly service. Was a super hot day and they were very accommodating with the fans.Locations: Easy to find, plenty of parking. Fantastic garden location, simply enhances your mood as soon as you walk in. Hard to have a bad day here on a sunny day.Value: Was expecting a high price considering its location and postcode. But nope, quite decent.Summary: Great for dates, afternoon tea, quick coffees, dates, family lunches, great place to spend a long lunch. Almost a perfect experience for us, and will return with friends. 5 stars.

Located at the heritage Como house and gardens, the horse-stables turned cafe/restaurant, the Stables of Como was an eatery serving modern australian/brunch food. We’d been here a few times for lunch, and found their venue modern and bright, although their meals were pretty standard cafe stuff. Coffee was pretty average too. The gardens surrounding the cafe was absolutely beautiful however; you could rent a rug and do a little picnic there (best with byo food as their only picnic-style food seemed to be just scones). The staff members were polite and courteous, although some were not even aware we could hire picnic rugs.

Very very disappointing high tea for small hens party. Dirty glasses and cups, dried food, incredibly slow service, no choice of teas and no description of food served. A crowd of extremely noisy young girls on next table made it feel like we were in school playground. Also seated outside without even checking our preference. Bathrooms not clean and no hand towels. Would definitely not recommend even for cup of tea yet alone a special occasion.
