Sunnybank Private Hospital
Nearly had a heart attack when I turned up to Sunnybank Private hospital this morning to check in for Day Surgery.... Colonoscopy... Have gone through the whole prep overnight for it. When I went to the reception they had no record they could find for me even thought I had rang through to confirm details on the 22/6/23. I thought OMG I don't want to do this again, a lovely young lady named Coie said she would sort it out, turns out I was registered under a different surgeon. Coie was very reassuring when I felt sick to the stomache that I would have to go through the prep all over again for another day. Thank you Coie

Sunnybank private hospital need to learn a thing or two when it comes to being caring and considerate. From their admin staff to their doctors & nurses. Especially considering this is a private hospital I am in utter disbelief at how they treat there patients. My son came in for a removal of adenoids and to have grommets put in very quick procedure which I was aware of but mind you my son is only 12 months old. They kept us in a “holding bay” for 30min prior to going into theatre which was fine we were asked to lay down on the bed but no one came to let me know what was going on I was expecting to be able to hold my baby whilst getting put to sleep or even just assist him. After 30min they asked me to get up and walk him into the surgical room where he was now wide awake viewing everything lucky he is only a baby and won’t remember a thing but for a child any older this would be extremely traumatising. Was told to place him on the silver surgical table whilst the anaesthetist quickly shoved the mask over my baby’s mouth and the two nurses restrained his hands and legs until he was put to sleep it was the most traumatic experience of my life for any parent to watch let alone for my baby to go through. It brought me to tears and not one staff member during that time comforted me to even just say “he will be okay!” All I received was “he’s asleep now Mum you can leave” I then was NOT escorted out I had no idea where I was going and how to get back to the ward. Surgery was a quick process and recovery was even worse experience no check up besides one random nurse to come in and give us a cup of jelly. No doctor or surgical team came around and gave us feedback on how the surgery went. My son was in and out not even monitored for an hour. Nurse came in took the cannula out and we were asked to leave without any advice on where to from now with recovery? DO NOT waste your money with going here you will truly be treated 100x better in a public system. I can only hope the surgery went well for my son for all we know as we have not been told a single thing otherwise. Really disappointed with Sunny Bank Private. Go elsewhere. Especially if it’s in regards to a child.

I was sent there as a public patient after developing sepsis from a kidney infection. Staff are amazing. I had great chats as they administered my IV antibiotics. Very caring and prompt, if I had a reason to call but as they would often just pop in to check my roomie and I were okay, only needed to buzz a couple of times. Nice garden setting to sit and chat with family or other patients. Good food choices but must admit sandwiches often seemed to be a bit on the stale side.

Recently, I have had to get some female plumbing corrected at the Sunnybank Private Hospital.I felt extremely comfortable coming to this hospital and having my procedure done.Only issue : Upon admission, we were told that I would only be 3 to 4 hours from start to finish to be able to go home at the admissions office Which was incorrect, and it was an overnight recovery period. This confused my husband because he thought he was coming back to collect me. The mixup could’ve been avoided if admissions had either got the right information or researched before they gave us the information.Apart from that I give this hospital 5 star.Firstly, all the staff were extremely friendly, extremely reassuring, extremely comforting through the entire process. I was quite anxious and it was really nice to be treated as a human being rather than a number on a form.I commend the surgical staff with bringing a little bit of humour into the situation, because it’s at that point when you go into surgery that you think that you’re not coming back and by bringing a small amount of humour to make you feel more relaxed was just perfect for me.Did not spend a lot of time in recovery to be able to give any reviews on that but I did wake comfortably and not in pain which was a bonus. The ward staff are amazing. They are so approachable. They are friendly. They are knowledgeable. They know you’re a human being with emotions and feelings and they are down to earth and they make you feel really comfortable during your stay.I’d also like to commend the male nursing staff that I had at the time, by having gynaecology work its always awkward and embarrassing and the two male nurses made me feel extremely comfortable to be around them. The food was amazing. It’s probably the best food that I’ve had in hospital seriously! it was hot , it was plentiful. It was colourful and attractive it was served with a friendly smile from the catering staff. The morning tea afternoon tea was also presented extremely well.I admired the senior nursing staff, the way they treated the student nurses, whilst I stayed, they didn’t appear to look down on them or get flustered with them, fantastic teaching and support and excellent mentoringWould I go there again? Yes, absolutely. Don’t hesitate to utilise the services here in this hospital. Well done to everybody as I clap my hands.

Was just in there after gastric sleeve op with Dr Cheng for two nights and can honestly say I didn't want to leave the hospital! The nursing staff were so amazing in ICU and in the surgery ward, I had my own room, it was nice and quiet and so cosy. Nothing I asked for was too hard or a burden for the staff to achieve. Absolutely amazing hospital !

Sunnybank Private Hospital is first rate, with first rate staff. I know this because my mother has spent the past two weeks there and as much as she wants to come home, she is not exactly miserable that she will be there for another week or so.Special thanks must go out to nurse Kristen and student nurse Ben, who my mother heaps praise on every time I come to visit. The food is, in general, good, the medical care is first rate and I am unable to fault this hospital's service to the sick and injured.

I went in for a quick and easy day surgery today and was met with lovely staff and caring people at every point. It was my first surgery ever and everyone was incredibly kind and patient with me. If I do ever need to get another surgery done I’ll definitely be looking to have it at Sunnybank private.

Booked in yesterday for day surgery. Cannot fault the experience. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. This was my first time in hospital and having sedation so felt anxious but the staff made me feel comfortable the whole time. Thank you.
