I have been hearing store's of this landmark in the WA Pilbara town of Newman. And know I Finley got to meet him as he was watching the sun rise over the red dirt land of the small mining town of Newman, well worth a visit.

Had one day off drove 2hrs just to see this. Did not disappoint. Well worth the drive. Will be a regular stop anytime I'm driving though Newman. Just remember no toilet facilities which is a little disappointing. But still worth the trip 100%. 10out of 10

Interesting back drop. Pleasently surprised to see a wolfvane in the midst of the desert. Does look more like an Amercian wolf. Did Ernst Giles erect the vane?

Spent a afternoon at the Red sands. Found some cloudy ammonia. Siffed it went on a mystical journey. Woke up next to it. Definitely a great sight.

Certainly a highlight of the journey, searching for and locating the famed and yet mysterious “wolfvane”. Ground was a bit soggy from recent downpours and the wolf was listing a tad to the north... Who put it there? What was the purpose? I understand there was military base at that location and this is all that remains!? Unfortunately no toilet facilities are available. Coming soon apparently. It was nice to visit, to sit and ponder.....tranquil. Peace out.

Great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the serenity. Discussion heated up over is it a wolf or a dingo can we please confirm?

When I first saw the wolfvane it was like an out of body experience.Now it’s me and my family’s favourite spot to spend a Saturday.Definitely need to visit it more than once to really take it in. The rest of the Pilbara will be sub par compared to the Vane. Love it
