Great professional service and really well explained. I've taken my current and previous cars here BUT not a huge fan of the mark dodge sticker and number plate covers that got put on my car without my consultation or consent. I was not made aware that this was apparently standard practice.

My car was overheating and needed to be towed to a Mechanic to be repaired. I am with RACQ so I went with the suggestion of the guy who came out to look at the car and it was taken to Mark Dodge in Cairns. ( I found out later that the guy who came out works for Mark Dodge so of course thats who they suggest) The charged me $140 per hour in labour so the labour alone came to $1200. They told me that my coolant was leaking, which I know was not true as my coolant was full and bright green. They said they needed to replace all of my hoses even though I couldn't see any leaking under my car. They also said they needed to replace my drive belt because coolant had leaked on to it. They said they replaced the thermostat and the water pump which had only been replaced about 2 years ago and they replaced a heater valve, I believe that the heater valve may have needed replacing but the rest I do not believe needed to be done. The front of my car was covered in dirty finger prints where they had leaned on the car whilst fixing it. I dont understand why they dont use the fender protectors while they are doing repairs or at least have the decency to clean the marks off the car before pick up. The whole job cost me just shy of $2000. Unfortunately I didn't have a choice but to have them repair it because I was stuck in Fishery Falls without a car and couldn't get it towed somewhere else. I was treated like I was a stupid female who knew nothing and extremely over changed. I would never advise anyone to use them.

Their treatment of staff is abhorrent. The office staff at this place of business is absolutely disgusting in the way they speak and treat people. Avoid this place at all costs!

They are just money grabbers. When I had my car towed their, I told them that these certain parts dont need replacing they are fine I just need the other issues fixed. They claimed they couldnt work out the issue with my car till these parts where replaced which are over $300 each. When in fact the issue with my car you could find it without replacing those parts. They refused to do anything ells till those parts where replaced. And labour omg $280 that is nearly double of what I usually pay on labour with my usual mechanic. Oh not to mention they dont consult about most of it and put free advertisement on your car without asking. So stickers and the numberplate frames.

Stay away from this place. I would recommend looking for a different workshop, one that has a better reputation for quality workmanship and fair pricing. It's important to take care of your car and make sure it's in good shape, but it shouldn't come at the cost ($147.27/Tradesman Hour) of your wallet or your peace of mind.

These guys are absolutely brilliant. I had an intermittent issue that was causing my car to stop dead, it took them 2 goes to find it ( it wasn't a straight forward fault, so they did well, I have experience and was struggling to find it myself) and after not having my car for a while, it is back on the road and purring. Very, very impressed, really happy with the service professionalism of the staff and the work done. I don't normally let other people work on my car, I do it myself, but these guys are very good, and I will use them again if I need to.

Little bit of drama on communication between staffs but very quick job and price was affordable (replacement of alternator).Shame them to put unwanted sticker without telling me anything on the back window where I was planning to put other one from my friend, how can I peel it off...

We've used Mark Dodge and his crew for a couple of years and yes, they are at the top end when it comes to labour cost but we've always said that they have really good customer service. But something must have changed. Still high labour cost but now the customer service is really bad. I had my vehicle in for a service a couple of months ago. The customer service person said that they would call me back when the car was done. I never received this phone call and went there at 4pm to pick up the car. The workshop was closed, even though they say they're open until 5pm. I called the office number and got Mark to bring out the car. What I didn't know, driving off was that they had found a leak in the radiator which affected the performance of the aircon (which worked fine when I dropped off the car earlier in the morning). This was in the notes but the technician hadn't (as mentioned before) given me a call to advise this.Now my car is in for another issue and Mark Dodge had to order parts to fix it. It's been at their premise for almost three weeks and was booked in for repairs yesterday and today. I have not received a phone call from the customer service advising anything, they have only responded when I have called to enquire of the process. Today, I did expect to be able to pick up my car from the workshop, still no calls from the customer service, so I just got off the phone. The car will not be ready today (Friday) so I have to wait until Monday. I asked the customer service person if the car will be ready on Monday but he could not confirm that.Mark, you really need to look at how your guys at the front keep your customers updated. Far out, a phone call to the customer is all it takes. Most of us will understand if things take a bit longer but not letting us know makes the experience of your service really bad. *disappointed*
