Safe abd friendly space for migrants and refugees to gather for information, help and building new friendships.

We had an appointment to see the Maternal Nurse. The car park had a lot of empty spaces marked as council car pool? But there was no parking in the general car spots because people visiting the market had parked their vehicles in them! We informed the reception that we had parked in one of the 'council car pool 'spots but we were told that we would get a ticket for that!What are these'council car pool'spots? Who are these empty car spots reserved for?Why are the ticket inspectors not targeting the people who are using the general car spots to visit the market?We had to move our car out of one of the empty 'council car pool'spots and wait for parking in the general car spots.We finally got parking after someone came from the market and moved their car.After parking our car we went to the reception who told us that we could see the maternal nurse. When we went in to see the maternal nurse,she informed us that she couldn't see us because her next appointment had arrived.So we finally couldn't see the maternal nurse because we are not allowed to park in the numerous empty'council car pool'spots. We had to reschedule our appointment and the next available appointment was 1 month away! (February 19th!).Mayor Jim Memeti needs to look into this and make sure that people with appointments at the Migrant Resource Centre have access to parking.The ticket inspectors need to target people visiting the market and parking in the general car spots at the Migrant Resource Centre car park.How do I qualify to get one of the 'council car pool 'spots?Who are these people who use these'council car pool 'spots?Who are these privileged people?I asked reception but they did not know for who these spots were reserved for.I pay rates on my property on Herbert Street. I should be entitled to get one of these reserved 'council car pool 'spots.

Is beautiful place

The Program is an excellent one. I attend the Sewing Class. The Teachers are very knowledgeable in their craft. They have a great attitude in helping us all in our endeavours to learn how to sew and make a garment for ourselves. I have been amazed to watch the pattern making for each lady - getting her measurements converted to a paper pattern ready for her to cut her material to sew a dress.The Program provides a Child Care Service for the younger ladies who have very young children. Àlso available is a Kitchen area where you can make a cuppa for afternoon tea. There is an English Class earlier in the morning.I enjoy the Class as well as meeting all the ladies from different countries and hearing their life's experiences.

Such a Great place to work. Amazing team members who guides you.
