I'd like to thank Rick, Katrina and the team at Cairns music City for assisting me with purchasing a high end signature release Kanile'a Ukulele direct from Hawaii. With all the import bans on woods and various decorative shells at border security, I did not think I'd ever see this Uke.These guys were the only music store in Australia who said 'Yes and within a few weeks the very instrument was on stage with me living the dream!. Great job Guys"

This is the best music shop I have been to. You walk in there and feel a good vibe with staff who treat you like friends and help you out so well. They really know what they’re talking about and you end up walking out with what suits you best with no complaints. I have witness the shop worker cop a lot of abuse from arrogant customers.

Music City and Rick are rip off merchants, don't buy local in Cairns if you want to get screwed on price

Whilst working with music city for a client, these guys were beyond helpful, generous and a treat to work with. Not only did they go out of their way to assist him but were kind and supportive through the entire process from purchase to receiving the drum kit. Thank you so much music city, couldn’t recommend this shop/crew more.

This place was so welcoming, the staff were so knowledgeable and kind! I went in and brought a beautiful ukulele, they were so helpful in helping me find the perfect one suited for me and later helped with all maintenance needs/inquiries.I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for a good quality instrument and most importantly respectful staff.

This place has a lot of character and a wide choice of quality tools of the trade. You get your good days and bad days here, but mine have been mostly good lately.I always go here first, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable but like anything you buy it's wise to get educated first before you buy because every one has a subjective view. If Rick is in he's very helpful and entertaining but you'd better know your stuff before you add your two bits, resist the sale-speak, double check the info and always get a 2nd 3rd and fourth opinion before buying, nothing worse than forking out big bucks on impulse. Overall I, like many other working musicians I know, recommend it.

This Music shop is absolutely awesome, I could spend hours there just trying out and looking at the huge range of instruments, there is no shop quite like it anywhere. The staff are great with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge. The owner is quite a character, worth having a chat to, could learn quite a lot from someone like him.

The most arrogant music store I have ever had the misfortune to enter. The vast majority of music stores are very helpful to touring musicians. Not this mob. Snapped a high E string when re tuning a guitar after a flight. Bought a string at music city and then they wanted $5 to string it. Did it myself and then they didn't want to chop the end off(a 1 second job with a pair of pliers). Eventually got them to do it, but not without abuse. Avoid this store, they do not deserve to have a business!!!!!

Awesome staff who were super friendly and great at making you feel comfortable. I am a complete newbie and they sat me down and showed me some of the basics and helped me pick a guitar which would survive the plane ride home. Thanks heaps guys, I will be coming back the next time I am in cairns!
