We stayed here in our camper van whilst traveling the east coast. It's great for access into the city, a 10minute walk to the train station, then about 20 minutes on the train to the city. We got a taxi back from the city one night cost us 47 bucks! Can't fault the campsite itself

You can book specific picnic areas for events so that they can be reserved for your occasion.I have not done this myself, however I have seen areas reserved and signposted with the reservation name. Pretty good process I think as it prevents people parking early in the morning for the premium locations and thus the disputes and unfair nature of this practice on what is public owned resourses that are intended for the fair use of all.

A great spot to spend a day of your weekend. There are many things you can do around here from simple picnic, bbq, bit of hiking or walking and you can even rent a boat to go around the river.

The location is great (close to a train station, easy drive to shopping centres, Sydney Olympic Park). The amenities are clean (clean BBQ, toilets and showers). The shop at reception is handy for essentials (milk in the morning). The kids enjoyed seeing the kookaburras, scrub turkeys and parrots up close. There was a bit of noise (mainly from other patrons but that died down at about 11pm - around the same time as the planes stopped flying overhead).

The park is great for visiting sydney. The train is only 10 min away and if there is no delay with the public transport it only takes you about 20 minutes to the CBD(Wynyard).Amenities are clean and the staff is friendly.Only annoying are the birds. The can be really bothersome. One fly directly in the tea cup of my wife during breakfast. A camper with a blind is really recommended here :)

Is a nice and close area to spend the day with family and or friends. Not five stars because is not developed for cycling mtb but has lots of potential. Cycling paths are in pieces, there is not a continuous and nice trail between the extremities of the park.

Absolutely nice spot for gathering and do some outdoor activities! Obviously it is located at lane cove national park and heaps of parking spots around. This area goes crazy on the weekend so it is hard to find a decent spot to relax but I would recommend to book your spot before popping in!Picnic area suits families mainly who have kids. Safe and good for them!

Recently spent a week here in a cabin. Great park - the cabin was modern and very clean, service was friendly and the park itself is very well looked after. Kids had a great time, and loved the free spotlight tour in the evening.Location is excellent, within the national park and only a short walk to the station or a quick drive to most tourist locations. Highly recommended :)

A challenging section of the Great North Walk, make sure you carry plenty of water, we couldn't find anywhere to replenish our water for about 15km.
