Town of Gawler

Your parking inspector, Stanley, gave me a parking ticket after claiming he had marked our tyres twice however we know he had only been to the car park 10mins prior to giving myself and a colleague parking tickets. The parking inspector has on multiple occasions come back to check tyres after 45mins - not 2 hours as per stated on car park sign. We have emailed multiple times requesting parking permits as we are happy to pay for them however no one has responded to our request. We are placing formal complaints and have already previously gone to the local MP regarding the situation. We have had multiple parking tickets this year and never argued them however having requested assistance from the council regarding the situation yet having no solution its beginning to feel as if they are only concerned with revenue raising.

rates are extremely expensive $580 a quarter and we don't even have side walks, hard rubbish collection or street light.. the sideways on our road and in our suburb are not maintained at all but we get a letter every year saying we need to keep our grass short or we will get a fine for being a fire hazard even though the council land has grass ten times the length. They also are slow to respond to rubbish being dumped in the area and didn't even know that our suburb existed when I've called to make a query a few times. Definitely not the best council to be a part of.

Just rang the council about a lost kitten and registering a dog. The lady (not a robot) who answered the phone was very helpful and friendly. The phone was answered immediately. All my questions very answered fully. This is a great first impression of the council.

Town of Gawler (Administration Centre) is a place to visit if you need to register or renew your canine/feline registration, Sheree and Lynn is very helpful and friendly for any inquires that you have; highly recommended Town of Gawler to everyone in Gawler Town.

Just found a fish hook that impaled my dog at the park on coleman parade well done council for the cleanup funny thing is the lawns were kowed today and I've been coming here for 5 years no problem maybe look at the staff you have all in all I am sending you the vet bill and will take you to court if I must

where's all the tax payers money going in Gawler it's a dirty untidy rundown The footpaths are crappie the roads are crappie the trees and gardens are all straggly and crappie just like the rest of the town the Main Street is crappie the traffic needs to get bypassed away from the Main Street 90% of the traffic that go through the Main Street never stop the Main Street should be made into a one way Street with speed bumps to reduce unwanted traffic and would also allow to make more parking spaces for people that do want to go shopping in the street come on Gawler council get off your rear ends and fix this town up it's a complete eyesore to anyone it's just a very disgusting looking town I have spoken to tourists and other residents that have said the town is not what they thought it would be it's dirty run down and in need of serious repair everywhere in the town ask them your self if you don't believe it get out of your office and take a good look of the town it's disgusting there are smaller towns with less income that look loads better then Gawler what is the tax payers money being used for this needs to be spread around I will be writing to higher up and I will keep going up till something starts getting done with this town

Now where has Gawler's TAFE facility gone?

Dear Council.Two weeks ago I rang with a request for the trees surrounding the VINES LIFESTYLE VILLAGE to bepruned . Mobilty scooter's flags and sun covers got tangled up in the low branches, To my delight it was done the very next week and I am truly grateful for your prompt attention. Gawler charge one of the highest rate costs in the state !!!! and what do you get for it , stone kerbing, no footpath, and street trees that do doing but make a mess in my front yard.Gawler council is money grabbing joke

Revenue raising at its absolute worst. Who knows where the money goes though. Certainly not on maintaining the roads and sidewalks. Garbage council.
