I was in the men's department looking for something to wear for a funeral, and the music was so loud, and so inappropriate, I could barely talk to the sales associate. I left without purchasing anything. This is not the first time I have had this experience at David Jones, and know several other people who have had similar experiences. It's not a nightclub, it's a retail department store, and there should be a more appropriate environment created. Poor management if they are aware of this issue and ignore it.

Picked out an early Mothers Day present today. I went for an Estée Lauder perfume Aerin range which is available at this store not available at your cheaper discounted perfume retailers. This retails at $220 for this size. Definitely a luxury item

Visited the cafeteria. Great tasting coffee. Had a ham cheese croissant which was great. The almond croissant was a dream, realy tasty!! Nice and very friendly staff.

Nick in perfume department.He was very welcoming and helpful in finding what I needed. He approached me straight away before everyone else. Very good attitude, I thought he was the boss for a minute.

I went in to buy a couple fragrances but left with nothing.The staff were too busy talking amongst themselves to acknowledge that there were customers in the store.The fragrance section was full of people and not one member of staff came over in the 20 minutes I was there.I only came in store as you can't try samples online but there were no point. There were maybe 4 or 5 sample bottles open from the entire range of fragrances and the rest of the stock was in sealed boxes.Waste of time coming in to store unless you know exactly what you want and feel like being ignored.

I called this store in search of a bag that was completely sold out pretty much everywhere in the country. I was told they had it so I rang them. I spoke to Monica and she was amazing, she found the bag for me and put it on hold until she found out if I could have it transferred to a Melbourne store. I asked her to ring me back past 3pm and she did, she said she couldn’t transfer the bag but I could buy it over the phone and have it delivered to my home in Victoria. The whole process was so easy. Monica’s skills and customer service was great and I’m so thankful for the pleasant experience she provided for me. So thankful I got my bag and she made it so easy for me to purchase and have it sent over the phone. Thank you so much!

The cafe section is a really nice addition since the revamp a few months back. The store layout is quite nice with a few great displays but prices are quite high even for common products. Sales are often very lack luster but that's to be expected. Overall it's a nice store for window shopping but I won't be spending much there.

I like shopping at DJ's, most of the staff are friendly. The range and quality of their stock is excellent. You can get a bargain, just look around, or pick your timing.

Customer service in the beauty department...is there any?? Traveled 3 1/2 hours for my nearest David Jones to purchase a specific colour. After waiting at booth 10 minutes decided to ask for help only to get home with wrong colour...thanks for your great work beauty department!!!
