Queensland Boat Inspections

I was very keen on a boat for which I made an offer and withdrew the money to buy. A relative suggested I get an inspection done first before rushing into clinching a deal. Thus I called Leighton at Queensland Boat Inspections and saved myself becoming a victim of the age old adage of BOAT (Bring On Another Thousand). Friendly Leighton arrived on time, was diligent and meticulous in his checks and was happy to get down and dirty to ensure everything that needed to be inspected was inspected. He knows his boats and engines. His report was very efficiently delivered on the same day and was comprehensive and thorough and above all else, honest. To any and all prospective boat buyers out there, get Leighton's objective assessment before buying. That will be the best money you will spend towards your new boat. I cannot recommend this chap highly enough. Thank you for a great service.

Leighton is a champ that really helped me select the correct boat and understand all the issues, I brought a 25foot 16year old bow rider so there were big risks if things weren’t right... which they mainly were but Leighton pointed out several items that I would have otherwise missed, buying from a dealer this meant the items were fixed before sale (the dealers were really good blokes as well) .What impressed me the most was that even before I had agreed to engage QBI Leighton gave me some excellent advice about what to look out for which saved me a lot of time, would definitely use again and highly recommend.Adrian

Leighton conducted a boat and trailer pre purchase inspection and was SO helpful. He took the time to answer all my queries and provided great photos and reporting. Definitely recommend using him!!!!!!

Leighton looked over a boat for me that the dealer guaranteed was A1.He picked up many small non structural issues as well as a few mechanical problems that would have led to trouble down the track.I used his detailed report and photos to send to the dealer who come to the party and agreed to fix all the issues for me within the original purchase price.QBI and Leightons expertise in this case was well worth his rate as I was buying a boat in Queensland when I live in NSW and I would have been very disappointed if I had driven 10 hours to find all these issues myself.I can’t recomend this business highly enough, if required I will definitely use again and highly recommend to anyone else who is looking at purchasing a boat in Queensland.

Haven't even used the service yet but Leighton is absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful and informative, I want to find a boat just so I can pay for the pre-purchase inspection, he has already helped me dodge incorrectly listed and money pit boats. Definitely recommend this service as he is extremely professional and thorough.

I would give 10 stars out of 5 if I'm allowed to. I highly recommend Leighton's services if you are in the market to purchase a boat. I have needed his service on 2 separate occasions, and both times he was professional, helpful and very good at his comms. In the first time, the boat turned out to have a rotten stringer. Once this was known, I said to the owner that I wasn't interested to buy it. Leighton gave me a credit because he has only spent 10 mins. A few weeks later I got him out to inspect another boat. He brought alone his son, and you can tell a lot about a person on how they communicate with their family. He was never impatient with my stupid questions (e.g. how to switch batteries, how to clean the boat, do I need a white light to operate the boat at night). Very thorough with his work, and took the time to explain things to me even though he was in a bit of rush. He offered lots of boating advises after knowing that I haven't been boating for a long time. There's never the 'I am good at what I do, you don't need to question it.' type of mentality. He's always helpful, always friendly and always professional. Give him a call if you are looking for a boat.

I have been dealing with Leighton for some weeks now going back and for with information on what is a good and bad buy for a boat. Being a first time boat owner and knowing absolutely nothing about what to buy, what is safe, what is suitable to my needs and the overall cost of what i am looking at to buy i knew i always had Leighton to rely on. He was absolutely outstanding in his knowledge and desire to help me no matter the time or day of the week. He is worth every cent you pay and his VERY respectable prices are worth every cent as he completes a thorough job.
