HILLVIEW MOTEL

Very quiet room on the edge of town, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The room was large and included a kitchenette. An older style motel that the new owners are refurbishing. The owner was very friendly. Pleasant garden and outdoor area giving a sense of space. We stayed two nights and would be happy to stay again.

The family rooms are perfect for young children with plenty of space and are clean and tidy. Our kids loved feeding the pony out the back. Julie is extremely accommodating and even posted belongings that we accidentally left behind.

Friendly owner who is willing to have conversation with you. Very tidy and clean.Ground level so easy access . Breakfast is amazing here, you get more than you think. Highly recommend Hillview Motel.

Needed fairly cheap accommodation at the last minute for a 12 day stay, what a little gem this turned out to be! Was warmly greeted upon arrival and instantly felt welcomed. Parked my car under the spacious carport outside my room, so no squeezing into tight spots. The room not only smelt lovely and fresh but was extremely clean and surprisingly very spacious. Bathroom in this room had a seperate toilet from the shower and was also a great size and again, spotlessly clean. Beds were very comfy which gave us a decent night sleep! All linen was clean and supplied. Nicely heavy clean curtains were great for keeping out the light if you like a dark room. Lovely new air conditioning unit kept the room comfortable and was extremely quiet. Free fast WiFi and plenty of tv channels to watch. Kitchenette was well equipped for guests who like to cook for themselves. I was even given an air fryer to use during my stay for extra convenience. The well kept gardens surround the hotel which provides privacy from the road. The large grassed bbq/pool/playground area is also surrounded and shaded by the lovely gardens which is conveniently fully fenced so children and visiting pets have a huge safe space to run and play, definitely a relaxing area to sit and enjoy. Owner Julie and her beautiful family were extremely lovely and caring who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was pleasant and comfortable. The family even share their wonderful pets (including Charlie the pony) with guests to enjoy, so it’s really a very family friendly motel. Would recommend Hillview Motel to anyone for short or long stays and at a great rate!Thanks again Julie, Mum and Miss M, see you again soon x

Spacious rooms with good internet speed and good TV set up. Pet friendly and close to an open area for walks with the dogs. We stayed twice -on our trip south and on the way back to Cairns. friendly service -can only recommend.

We would happily stay here again.Very family and dog friendly.We stayed a couple of nights at HILLVIEW with our two little kids (2&4) and our dog.It is a standard motel room, comfy, clean, decent motel kitchen. Everything worked and again was clean.The pool and playpark was perfect for our family. The kids had a great time. Toys were available and a great fenced grassed area for them all to run about.We made good use of the gazebo and bbq. Having breakfast outside… and would have had dinner too but the flies decided to join us.The owners very very friendly and went out of their way to help us. Thank you very much.We made use of their kids ‘grazing room’. A room with a good variety of snacks and breakfast basics. This was so useful as we didn’t have to drag the kids to the shops just for a few bits. Saved time and stress.The horse and chucks out the back were fab for the kids too. Plenty to occupy them and they enjoyed it all.

A great Motel with excellent facilities for the kids. A playground with ball games, swings, a fenced pool, gazebo, Guinea Pigs a chicken or two as well as bikes etc. for the kids. A great place for the kids to let off steam while the adults relax.

On arrival the owner was welcoming and our Room was clean and cool, which we really appraised after a long journey. It was also well equipped and spacious with room for our furbaby and her crate.

Fantastic motel. Rooms are a little dated, but are presented beautifully and very clean. Julie the owner bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed and provided a small jug of fresh milk on arrival for tea and coffee, none of the UHT milk you would normally get.. It is located close to town without being part of the CBD. Ideal.
