After emptying a basket of goods at the till, I placed the basket on a nearby counter and was told: ‘The basket goes in the stack outside.’If I am required to perform the task of a staff member, I might have been asked politely to undertake that duty, rather than to be told what I had to do.Accordingly, I thanked the woman for her service and departed, leaving the basket in place, prompting the attendant to demonstrate just how rude and uncooperative I am as a paying customer by bashing and crashing the basket around the place while I left.
