Really appreciate the time and effort the volunteers put into running this railway and the 1 hr journey that takes you back a century. Magical trip through a stunning valley and canyon sections of the river. Everyone was so friendly and eager to share their passion for the trip. Bring on the 40 Mil to extend the line!

Walhalla is a hidden gem with a beautiful town and gold mine tour. There is a train which runs from Walhalla and Thompson which is an attraction for kids. There are not many options for food in this town though

Beautiful spot for a day/weekend trip. Park up one end and walk through the town. Take the scenic walk up the steps for a good view from above. Lots of information boards to read about the history. A round trip on the rail is nice. The old historical cemetery is vibey. Autumn is a good time to go to see the colours. Very pretty quiet town but take a picnic as there's only one cafe and the pub was closed so we almost went hungry.

It's such a nice way to spend the day in Walhalla, riding the Goldfields railway.With beautiful scenery travelling through the valley above Stringers Creek.On this particular day, my 83 year old mum came along for the ride, and she had a wonderful time.Thanks

At one time, Australia’s most productive gold mining district. This town is unlike any other I have experienced and I would certainly recommend to it to those looking to learn about a unique part of Victoria’s history.

A forgotten town with great Victorian history. Diggers fought for our country. These miners fought long and hard hours to put food on the table. Let us not forget Walhalla.
