Club Marine Boat Insurance

One of the worst companies to deal with. The whole process of any claim is a nightmare, constantly chasing them up and the assessors, repairers they suggest you using are even worse. No communication or guidance from anyone and when you do get hold of someone you are waiting weeks for a worthless response. complete cow boys using contractors just as bad.

Just called to insure my third boat with Club marine.They were belligerent and totally unresponsive. There was not one 'yes' in the conversation. Even though the new boat has been insured with them they were not interested in even having a conversation.No problems. I will be taking all 3 to another insurer. These are not small boats. The other 2 have been with CM for over 30yrs.They are not interested in assessing a risk they just want a premium.

My 2 recent enquiries have been handle to my total satisfaction. Due to increase of boat prices I enquired about increasing the cover for my existing vessel. I was offered a 10% increase on the agreed value at no additional cost. After hearing from another boatie that some insurance companies do not cover vessels sinking unless as a result of collision, I was advised by Club Marine that provided the vessel is seaworthy and regularly service there are no exclusions.

Great Policy, user friendly website. BUT when I ring the phone number and get the verbal menu choose a number etc on my iphone 12, my selection does not register and I am stuck in an endless automated answer loop :-(. It should default to an operator after the first cycle of non response.

Club Marine has consistently given the worst service to me and every person I know who needed to make a claim with them. You can only judge an insurance company at the moment you make the claim. For me they sent out an assessor from Mandurah who is either completely ignorant when it comes to yachts or just happy to lie and make things up. It took me 3 years to turn it around and eventually they paid some of the money they owed me. I cannot state more clearly that this company should NOT be used, as I guarantee they will do everything in their power to not pay out, just when you need the business to step up they do the opposite. Along with most of my boating friends we are now with other insurers, I encourage anyone reading this to do the same. If CM reply to this in your phoney conciliatory, way be prepared to pay me the $10,000 you still owe.It is obvious really, they use your money on gloss and not on legitimate claims.

Worst customer service and lack of knowledge about boats. Person answering the phone had to keep running or to speak to another possibly Less competent person. Ended up going to the RAC to get Brilliant service and a very reasonably priced comprehensive policy.

I would not recommend using this insurance company…..Behind all the glitz and glamour of the website there is another side to club marine.Had to give it a 1 star rating otherwise my review would not be accepted, so to anyone who reads this, it’s more of a negative 1.My point is I have been with club marine for 4years, there happy to take your money upfront but when it comes to making a claim, they don’t want to know about you.I’m putting this review across just to warn other people about this company or even if your with them now I would seriously change to a different insurer.Even when they hired the assessor to inspect my jet ski, what a clown, no communication, poor professionalalism, quick to shut my claim down which was ludicrous. Wonder how much they paid you Josh Hoffman…..If you get this bloke who is a poor excuse of a man, get someone else to inspect it.So stay away from club marine full stop…I do not rate this insurer.These muppets should be reported to ACCC, for false and misleading information to their members..Interesting how my reviews get taken down, they don’t appreciate real criticism.Well done C.M.I will try again

Very average insurance, took over a month to process my claim. So they could have a sub contract asessor help them wriggle out of paying. All this effort to avoid a 3.5k payout, imagine what they would do to get out of a total loss.Claimed the damage was existing, which was absolutely not true. I even supplied photos of it undamaged before the storm. We now cant get it in the water for summer so have to sell it for what we can get and get another boat if we want to get out. Needless to say new boat is not been insured by club marine.

Comprehensively insured our very well maintained and regularly serviced boat. Had a fire in the motor and CM were not interested. Took it to their approved mechanic who said the starter motor got stuck - no one at fault, just a random thing. Took forever to process the claim which they then rejected. However they’ll replace the cowling. Whoopdeedoo. We’ll be going elsewhere.

Rejecting a claim seems to be the first action of this company. They are very happy to take your money, but all the excuses in the world when asked to pay out. I have personally spoken with 4 people this year in our little club who all have had their claims rejected!
