As a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my deeply unsatisfactory experience with Helena College. It is with regret that I write this negative review, but it is important to shed light on the glaring issues that plague this institution. Mine and my son’s interactions with disrespectful staff, their relentless pursuit of money, over-reliance on technology, and their lack of genuine care for students has left me thoroughly disappointed. One of the biggest issues I encountered at Helena College was the biased upper management. It became apparent that decisions were made without taking into account the best interests of the students. It seemed as if the administration was more concerned with their personal agenda rather than providing a nurturing environment for learning and growth. The disrespectful behaviour exhibited by the staff was disheartening. Instead of creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, I witnessed dismissive attitudes, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of empathy. It is disconcerting when those entrusted with the education and well-being of our children fail to demonstrate basic respect and decency towards them.Helena College is overly focused on financial gain. The school’s insatiable desire for money overshadows their commitment to delivering quality education. There was an emphasis on profit over student welfare, with exorbitant fees and continuous pressure to make additional financial contributions. It is disheartening to witness a school prioritising financial gains above the educational needs of its students. The education offered at Helena College was alarmingly disappointing. The school relies heavily on technology as a substitute for genuine teaching. The over-reliance on computers and software left students disconnected from the learning process. It is disconcerting to see education reduced to a series of automated programs, neglecting the essential role of teachers in guiding and inspiring students.Despite the school's claims of caring for their students, the reality fell far short of their promises. The lack of genuine concern for individual student well-being was evident in the school’s actions. Teachers and staff fail to provide the necessary support and guidance for students' personal and academic growth. It was clear that their supposed care for students was merely a facade to attract parents. My family’s experience with Helena College has been overwhelmingly negative. Greed-driven practices, an inadequate education system reliant on technology, and a lack of genuine care for students have left me deeply disappointed. As a parent, it is disheartening to witness an school that fails to prioritise the well-being and development of its students. I urge prospective parents to thoroughly consider their options and explore alternative schools that truly prioritise the education and welfare of their children before sending them here.

If your child is not performing in the top 30% of their year group, I do not recommend sending them to this school. Considering the high school fees, I and many other parents felt that the school was not worth the money for kids who are not top performers, as the school curriculum places too much emphasis on the student self-directing their education. Many students in years nine and ten left for other schools because of this. We have had a much better experience with Swan Christian, who we feel have a more genuine care for all of their students. However if your child is a high academic achiever, well organised, self-motivated and driven, then Helena is certainly a good choice. The grounds are lovely, the teaching staff are generally good, and the school offers some good extra-curricular opportunities. For context: our child last attended the school in 2022. The school has since announced plans to move away from the IB model, which might improve matters.

Not worth it. Too much misconduct in the upper levels of management. Most decision makers only care about advancing their careers and do not care about the students.

I regret even giving one star, this is a really bad school, all they care about is money, money, money, so keep YOUR MONEY SAFE and don't go to this school. They also affect people lives in a negative way (ik from experience as a student) so please don't send your children to this awful school, 90% of the teachers bully the students, and hate teaching, please dont send your children here
