Armidale Private Hospital

I came to visit a sick relative in care for fluid on the lungs. I was absolutely blown away by the sheer, fantastic professionalism of the venue, when my relative explained that he had been having trouble breathing all morning, and was informed by the nurse, well we can't do anything about that there is no doctor on weekends."Now I'm no medical expert. I'm sure there is some clever strategy behind leaving an entire ward with inadequate care. So I definitely will not be complaining about the fact that there are patients with high-level needs who are unable to receive the treatment they require. I also won't mention the dirty facilities (anyone feel like some MRSA?) and the lack of compassion or bedside manner in the staff.If I had the choice to receive urgent care at Armidale hospital

My name is Anne Beaumond. The above ID is not mine but I can't seem to remove it. I had a hip replacement at the Private Hospital on April 26 2023. My surgeon offered to do this as a public patient at the Private Hospital to ease his burden at the public Hospital. While the facilities were comfortable and clean, and general staff assistance was good, I did find the night nurses sorely lacking.Both nights I was there, a loud voiced male in the next room rang the bell in the early hours, followed by - and you won't believe this - hours of loud talking, no emergency, just chatting, both patient and nurses, loud and not concerning his needs. On the first night the nurse engaged with him in flirty laughter and endless talking, like they were having a party. It went on for over 2 hours. Next night, same again. Eventually I got onto my walking frame and showed up like a ghost from hell at the door of the man's room and told him off. Imagine my having to do this!Each night the nurses talked loudly throughout their shift, seemingly oblivious to the needs of post op and seriously ill patients, and the bell should have been turned right down too, but wasn't. Closed doors did not block this constant noise.On day 2, my aging room mate had an 8 hour visit from her boyfriend and talked incessantly the entire time. I eventually asked them to go to the visiting room across the hall. They continued the chatting and it was just as loud. So no afternoon nap either.It took me days at home to recover from sleep deprivation in those vital post op days.The staff urgently need training in talking VERY softly at ALL times. How can this not be known after years of training?Also, restrictions on long visits should be gently enforced by staff.The night time obs could be handled with less stress too.If I need more Hospital visits, I will refuse offers of private in preference to public.

The nurses and hospital is great, and the services are 120% better than the disgraceful Armidale Public Hospital and the John Hunter Hospital near New Castle! None of the public hospitals are worth supporting and are hopeless in NSW.

Recently had day surgery at Armidale Private Hospital. I found all the nurses, doctors and other staff to be professional and extremely kind and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and continually checked on me. I highly recommend this hospital.

I am still in the hospital at present after a minor operation. Even after short time, I would rate these people here as tops, the medical personnel, staff, and everyone are very good and proficient. More importantly, I think they go out of their way to help, and they are all very, very friendly. Makes you feel better when you come out of that sleep you just had to have.

Staffed by wonderful volunteers. Will visit again the next time I visit Armidale Hospital.

I had a great experience face to face with nurses in the emergency room. But have now found out a blonde nurse was talking horribly about me to my friends waiting in the emergency room. Deeply upsetting for such a traumatic night on my behalf. Highly recommend driving to Tamworth hospital if you can.

Only hospital in town. Service has been up and down. Awesome for kids.Me personally been up and down. Especially, when they send me home with a broken ankle telling me it was a sprain. Draw of the luck who you get tbh.But if it's mental health care? You better off visiting hell. I watched nurses gossip about patients and each other. I was left alone to get worst. Place really is a trigger for me.

Good place to pick up a quick coffee or snack while you're at the hospital

This is to the wonderful services and help we received from the Community Health Center We attended for Counseling with Parie and received so much more help and support than we knew was possible. We can not thank Parie enough for all her efforts above and beyond to help two female farmers in need. :)
