Went to Birches for a Christmas in July dinner and it was amazing. This booking was a spur of the moment decision 6 months ago. We walked in to a Merry Christmas greeting and the sound of live music, my wife and I love live music, playing a mix of Christmas carols and other songs, modestly decorated, not over the top, and the tables well presented in a Christmas theme. To complete the atmosphere we had a table near the fire on a nice cool evening. All the staff were friendly and appropriately attentive i.e. they didn't leave us hanging but didn't hover around the table either. The food was nothing short of excellent, we went there expecting to order Christmas fare like ham and turkey, but when I read about the BBQ pork dish and its baked pear, and pear and cider cream I had to order that; I was not disappointed. As it was a Christmassy theme I remembered to get some good photos, so have attached a few. I hope you enjoy the pics and the review helps you decide to give Birches a try. We will be taking the whole family back next Christmas in July. UPDATED 6 November to add pictures from a family dinner on the 5th of November.

The atmosphere is terrific with a central large fireplace crackling in the background. All courses are to a very high standard. The dishes themselves tend to be sweet. Anyone should be able to find something to love on the menu.

Beautiful restaurant, great service . Weekend evening has a 2 course for $65 or 3 courses for $73. Food selection was great and portions were generous. We only got the 2 course and still couldn’t quite finish the main meal . Only slight negative was theBBQ pork loin was a bit fatty and hard to cut with the knife . Still edible but not to the high standard the rest of the food was . Even at night you could tell the views are amazing. The fireplace in the middle would be so cozy in winter .

Omg what an amazing restaurant! We had the 3 course meal option. There were four of us and not one of us came out disappointed. The meals/deserts were so beautiful and well presented full of flavour & great sizes. Cocktails were also well made and fresh, no fake ingredients. Totally recommend this restaurant the staff were so lovely and full of smiles, hats off to the chef. Thank you Birches, have not been able to rave this much about a restaurant in a very long time, we will be back ❤️

What an amazing place, quality food that we couldn’t get enough of, professional & beautiful friendly staff, we simply can’t wait to come back! Everyone’s meals were nothing short of incredible & mouth watering!! We loved being there for dinner & chatted the whole drive home about how good it was ☺️

Birches is our favourite place for brunch by far.The dishes are high quality and decadent but still good value for money with very generous portion sizes.The staff are friendly and professional.Eating out on the verandah, you can get a great view but the atmosphere is especially good during autumn and winter or on a drizzly day so you can enjoy the large fireplace in the middle of the restaurant.

We visited on a weekend where there is a 2 or 3 course set menu with many options. The atmosphere was excellent, the service really good and the food sublime.
