Hanging Rock Discovery Centre

It was a pretty good experience as it is my first hiking experience. With friends it becomes even more exciting. Highly recommend visiting it at least once. The walk is about 1.5 kms and is steep at certain points. Very scenic views from the top and a few intermediate stops have vista points.

Been many times from childhood to now. Took a friend from NSW yesterday and enjoyed the area once again. Always something different to see. Amazing views from all different areas of the climb (and a must for all fans of the book, 1975 movie or recent Foxtel mini series)

Good place for a short hike, barbecue, and kangaroo watching. Cafe is also complete with the basics.

Great family visit location only a short drive (about 1 hour) from Melbourne. Remember to keep a look out for the exit from the Freeway, the signage could be better. There is a sign indicating the exit is a KM or two coming up, but when you get to the appropriate exit there is no sign indicating Hanging Rock This EXIT". When you do get to the park there are automatic gates which open when your car reaches the boom gate. You get your $10 ticket to exit the park from the automatic dispensing machine next to the cafe. Prices for parking may vary for special occasions. Climbing the rock is via a ramp (for prams or wheel chairs) or via steps. Both take about the same time. Signage indicates you shouldn't climb rocky out crops

Beautiful Australian Countryside and a really interesting Discovery Centre...Definitely worth a family day out..lovely picnic area and very clean..

Great place to hangout with groups. Kids would love the museum and the displays. No entry charge for the museum. The only fee you pay is the parking fee, which is $10 flat for whole day, payable at the time of exit at the cafe.Number of wallabies and parrots to keep young kids excited.

if you are adventurous and love hiking then this place is the one. the view from the top is beautiful. Resto, mini museum, and other facilities are great. Great place for family picnics and camping.

The scenery is good, the trail is easy to walk
