Giant Red Gum Tree.
Beautiful historic site, complete with infomitive signage of the historical value. Though I would like to see some information about the significance of the site to the traditional owners (aboriginal communities in the area)BBQ area and seating under a sturdy shelter, make this a good spot for lunch after a long drive, and the public toilets aren't too far away,in the nearby township of orroroo.

What a lovely specimen. Dropped by during a mammoth drive across the Nullarbor. A beautiful welcome sight, especially given the terrible bushfires that have plagued the country. Hope it's around for many more years!

Good little picnic area that looks reasonably new. There is space for a turning circle if you are towing. The tree is massive and beautiful, well worth a quick stop.

Orroroo has 2 claims to fame. The giant gum tree, and it's the start of the Flinders Ranges.

What a beautiful old tree. Photos do not do it justice so best you go and see it for yourself. A roomy picnic shelter is available so you can sit and watch the bird life in the many branches of this old beauty

What a lovely area just off the main road. Complete with picnic and BBQ area. Well done to the community. The tree itself is very impressive.

Good to see grand old trees. And to think Australia was covered in trees much older than this is thought inspiring. Worth a look. Tree is very healthy.
