Dave Franklin Martial Arts

We were told from day one that Dave can be quite strict with the kids and that is exactly what we are looking for in a club. We love the discipline he instills in his students. Yes, he can be tough on them during training, encouraging them to do give their best and always have the right attitude but he is always very nice and gentle to the kids once training is over.We have been with DFMA for over 5 years now and my kids have flourished in self confidence and discipline. I highly recommend this club.

I have been training with Dave Franklin for 14 years and have learnt a great deal from him that I have had to use to defend myself and will continue to train with him for a longer while

he was always very grumpy and made some children cry i do not recommend this place to anyone

DFMA is a long standing club with great teachers and a great family feeling. Dave maintains a great club and is one of the few clubs in the west that are part of the Australian Jujitsu Federation (AJF), theonly recognised government Accredited organisation.

Very professional staff. It’s hard to teach little kids but they are doing a fantastic job. The self defence techniques taught look simple but are hard for kids to remember so need a lot of practice and patience so well done training team.

my 3 children have been training with Dave franklin for 7 yrs, they have all excelled under his instruction.Dave is an excellent teacher, he has taught my children how to use self defence appropraitely and effectively while remaining humble.this is not a show off club, your children do not recieve belts for turning up and paying money.This club is about working hard, sticking with the discipline and recieving genuine rewards and accomplishments.my children have and are still learning life lessons of stickability, confidence, strength, respect, humility and teamwork. if you value these lessons then this is an good club for you

By the time I meet Dave Franklin 24 years ago, I had practiced a few different styles of martial arts. What impresses me most about DFMA is that there is strong emphasis on effectiveness, understanding the techniques, self discipline and control. These are all key personal qualities if you are to attain a high level in any martial art. I studied under Dave Franklin for many years and now teach DFMA in NZ. I cannot thank or recommend Dave high enough.

I have been with DFMA for 16 years. I learned so much in my time there, using self defense in various situations, street defense and real life scenarios. Great teachers and a family environment. Dave is dedicated and very knowledgeable and I am proud to have learned from him.
