Goods Line Walk
This is a bit of a hidden gem in Sydney CBD area. I had no idea this even existed until a geocache or two brought us to the Goods Line by Central Station. We arrived here by bus which pretty much drops you at the start of the walk. Lots to explore along the way. It's worth strolling and taking in the sights. We had a good time and did the loop back through Chinatown, Paddys Market and finally Central Station.

Goods Line Walk
It's a long way tram from Paddys market through Central station. This path magically transformed into Vivid 2022 spot and looks amazing at night, especially through the end of path (**next to Novotel Central) you will find the center of laser show (Find yourself with the clue).

It’s a cool area. Love the building nearby. I would eat lunch here if I worked near the place.

VERY TRANQUIL ROUTE, (with some gardens and trees), to walk or relax within.

Goods Line Walk
Disappointing. The Goods Line was listed as one of the top 5 walks in Sydney, but I don’t understand what all the hype is about. As a historic and cultural site, it’s interesting, but when I visited, it appeared inadequately maintained and poorly designed with wide open, underutilized concrete paths and limited options for sitting and relaxing. There were few, if any, shaded spots to sit, no views worth mentioning, and nothing visually interesting (art, sculpture, etc) along the walkway. It’s been compared to the High Line in New York, but it doesn’t look or feel anything like that space—the High Line is much more of a pedestrian boardwalk, well integrated into the city and much more inviting. The Goods Line, unfortunately, seems to lack a cohesive aesthetic and appeared to be past its prime. There were homeless people camping out in several of the public spaces and the landscaping seemed neglected, if not poorly selected, for most of the walk. There were a couple of spots—interestingly, off the main path—that appeared to have been designed a little better, but the whole thing was overall underwhelming and a big disappointment. Sadly, not worth going out of your way to visit.

Goods Line Walk
A small and simple park with a small amount of relics left behind from earlier days

Nice and straight walk. Only 15 minutes from Central Station to Powerhouse with no roads to cross.

Just wandering from central station and the Convention Centre near the light rail and found the old goods rail line behind UTS. This building is amazing architecture.
