What a great life and art experience! I atteneded Ben's art retreat this April and it was FANTASTIC! I was a first timer at plein air painting so it was great to learn from one of Australia's experts. Ben was very generous with his knowledge and catered for everyones needs. The King Valley area was the perfect location for the retreat and I'm looking forward to attending again in the future! Highly Recommended!!

Ben's Autumn retreat in the scenic King Valley was excellent. He teaches fundamental concepts and skills and this helped me towards evolving my own style rather than merely cloning the teacher. It is amazing how much you can achieve when everything else is catered for and you only have to focus on painting. Ben's demos and explanations are very clear and I gained so much confidence over the week.

I have just returned from the Autumn Retreat at King Valley and feel inspired and excited to continue my art journey with new information and skills. Ben makes sure he teaches to the level of the student and takes time for everyone. He is patient and highly skilled. The retreat is an excellent way to dedicate a block of time to painting in a beautiful location. Very highly recommended.

Being my first Art Retreat, it was worth travelling from interstate for!Ben Winspear’s teaching was thorough and technical thru various demonstrations.He also shared himself and his own unique response to the Australian landscape.Painting alongside others and then seeing our improvements over the week was invaluable.The highlight for me was the trip to the top of Power’s Lookout - Magnificent! Ben taught about aerial perspective and mastering your own palette.Overall I came away convinced that ‘Beauty matters’ and that my art journey has had an excellent beginning.

Another amazing oil painting retreat with Ben Winspear at King Valley, Victoria, Australia. Ben is an extremely experienced and generous teacher, sharing his extensive knowledge with traditional oil painting craft. The location is heaven on earth, food is wholesome and delicious, accommodation basic but clean, hence the bargain low cost retreat. Being surrounded with supportive and encouraging fellow artists is also a highlight of this retreat.
