Okami Japanese Restaurant
Went to Okami Pakenham on a Tuesday night and we were there for 2 hours and were only served twice which is really disappointing. There were plenty of staff walking around clearing tables and behind the bar, however no one was taking orders and so we were only able to order when we waved someone to our table after waiting almost 45 minutes each time. The food is great but am unsure if we will be returning as it doesn’t feel like an all you can eat restaurant anymore.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The venue was really well thought out and designed, and the all you can eat (about $36.50 pp) was incredible given the quality and selection of food. Will be making this our new regular- have ordered food delivered from here before, but the only way to experience it is dining in! Good to reserve a spot - they fill up on weekends in particular. Great selection of vegetarian meals as well (not so good on the GF front) and will be highly recommending to everyone. Thanks for a great experience and night out Okami!

Food was excellent, but they have charged 5 people instead of 4, when I ask the refund they said, it will be transferred to my bank account after 3-5 days. Also waiter lady said tea pot is $3 and it can be refilled after, so we ordered 2 pots and they have charged for 5. When I ask about this they said they are charging for no of people. So pls check your bill before paying at the counter.

Had a great night out with the family!! My daughter is anaphylaxis to peanuts, I told them this at the time of reservation. When we arrived they had information regarding all menu items and ingredients! This gave daughter so much confidence and independence eating somewhere new! Food was delicious and service was great, will visit again!

The food is delicious but the service is so slow. It takes a good 10 to 15 minutes for anyone to come and take an order for food, practically nag to get service to get a drink. I understand they are busy, maybe more staff! Especially behind the bar

Okami is basically a staple in Melbourne now. With restaurants all over the place, all delivering the same foods. Food was good as usual. Highly recommend the beed carpaccio. Had a bit of trouble with service. We got the green tea and one of our teacups had a crack in it. We asked for a replacement. It took a really long time to be replaced. So we called on another waiter to bring us one and he wanted to charge us for it. We explained that we already paid for the cups we need, we just needed one exchanged. He was very skeptical of our request. Before this waiter came back, our first waiter came back and apologised for forgetting our cup. Then the 2nd waiter came back with another cup. They need a better system. Also, make sure after you order the first round of food, to order a second round before the first finishes. They take really long to bring out the next rounds, probably a play to reduce serving. But as long as you know how to play the game, you'll be fine.

Amazing dining experience, the food is delicious. The staff are very busy as the place is always packed since it’s so very popular, they do a great job keeping orders moving. Plenty of parking available which is nice. Perfect for families of all sizes. We made reservations in advance using their online service which was great! Love the food, will keep coming back for more!

Could’ve maybe had the staff visit the table a little more often because I wanted to order more drinks but that’s literally my only fault.Most of the photos on the other posts are really accurate, the place it cute and clean. The food in great and the price is very fair.Would absolutely go again, probably even have a birthday gathering or something here for sure.
