The room had almost nothing in it, what was in the room was badly in need of repair or really should have been recycled, including the horrible old bed & ruined mattress. The bed spread had many different coloured stains on it, which may or may not have come from different body fluids. However it did have off street parking, if you were one of the first twelve people out of the 45 rooms- if you didn’t get into the off street parking it’s only fifty metres or so back to the street! So we chose to cancel the next two nights & then we were told by the owner there would be no refund, apparently the cancellation policy is somewhere in the website — we still haven’t found it!So in short if you find yourself in Bathurst with nowhere else to stay, stay in your car you’ll be a lot more comfortable & a fair bit richer.

The place itself is somewhat ok. The main contributing reason for 2 stars is the price. For the same price or usually even cheaper you're able to get regular hotels with big rooms ensuite bathroom and etc, here you get a single room, with a small table. Bathrooms are ok-ish, kitchen looked like it just underwent nuclear bombardement. My next point is noise, the rooms themselves have probably only seen any kind of sound insulation when it was getting transported on a truck to the other side of Bathurst. You can hear a pin drop from across the street, the reason I'm saying this is because you might be unlucky to run into guests staying there as a large group who make enough noise across the entire place that could wake the dead, (common room, courtyard, hallway included), and by 2am you consider sleeping in the car. The bathrooms are also interesting, only one stall had toilet paper, the sink for washing ones hand was probably reused from a doll house because there was hardly enough room to wash your hand, added to the fact that it only had cold water, a lovely feature when it's -1 outside and no more than +10 inside the bathrooms. The showers were either freezing cold or you got burnt alive when attempting to adjust the temperature. Apart from that it wasn't so bad, a nice new aircon/heater and a clean room is probably all I can think of however.Overall I wouldn't seek this place out unless nothing else is available because it simply isn't worth the price.

We stayed for the wet Bathurst 1000 weekend after deciding not to camp in the mud at the track.Pros: Quad room 7A has reverse cycle airco. The kitchen and lounge are comfortable and large with good facilities to cook meals. It’s close to the track. Robyn is super helpful and friendly. Daily room make up and towel change. Bed was comfortable. Parking on site. Walking distance (1.2km) to Mt Panorama. Quiet and peaceful. We were able to store food in the fridge after checkout until we left town the same day after the battery in our camper trailer died.Cons: Hot water in showers is difficult to regulate between scalding and freezing.

GOOD: We found this place on the last minute during Easter holidays, stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean, kitchen has utensils. Oil heater in the room. Price was ok.BAD: there was not enough lighting in room or even in common area. Only small bulbs. NO hot water in any wash basin to wash face and everytime you can't turn the shower on if you would like to wash face. WATER in the shower taps was not hot enough either and same with the kitchen sink. KITCHEN FRIDGES were smelly as people leave their food without any lids and there were some rotten vegetables in the fridge as well. Felt like nobody was monitoring the fridges regularly. No soap or hardwash or any supplies for bathrooms.I do not recommend this place.

Robin is lovely and very happy to help where she can. The house was completely full and it was very quiet. Beds and pillows were comfortable and rooms clean and tidy. Fantastic views from the balcony as well

Holmhurst Guest House is a very Homely and relaxing place for a short stay in Bathurst. They have many different configurations of rooms to choose from. 1 Bed to 6 bed rooms to sleep up to 8 people. It has communal bathrooms and Kitchens which are kept very clean. And Robyn, the owner is very caring and accommodating.

Holmhurst Guesthouse is set within former orphanage in William St Bathurst. It is a beautiful and rambling historic building with comfortable rooms and clean, shared bathrooms. There is a good sized kitchen adjacent to an equally good sized TV room with ample amounts of onsite parking. It is very similar to the nearby Hallows accommodation and I could recommend staying at either place when in Bathurst. Best of all, both these premises are very close by to the iconic Mount Panorama race track which is ideal if you are in Bathurst for a car race. Would love to stay again!!

Short Version: Avoid at all costs. The owner is, unfortunately, a Scrooge. This place has a number of 1 star ratings for a good reason- read them and pay attention. I wish I had.I booked and paid for a room on Mon 13th Feb to say on Fri 17th Feb. Despite the booking websites saying Advance Payment Not Required" and to "Pay On Arrival" I thought I'd be generous and pay in advance as I booked directly with Robyn. I paid $180 for the room and $20 for breakfast. She didn't accept a credit card

Was more like a hostel when booking in groups. Pretty garden and surrounds but I think the inside needs refurbishing and modernising.Staying the night we heard guests upstairs moving furniture loudly when we were trying to sleep. When we left the next morning, those guests came down and looked like they had been doing drugs.

Checked in for the Bathurst Cup 2022 and all I can say is , it’s an amazing place to stay . Very conveniently located , walking distance to the town centre . We had some issues with the air conditioning but it was addressed immediately and all was well . Comfortable clean rooms and most importantly, the owners Robin and her partner are always available to ensure you have a great stay .Finally , it’s not only a guest house but one with so much of history behind it .Definitely recommend it highly to anyone going into the beautiful town of Bathurst.
