Read other peoples reviews so we gave it a try. The food was lovely. Driving distance of 10 muns from queens beach where we stayed. The staff were lovely and the reviews were much what they said. Relaxing atmosphere looking across to the water.

It's a bit tricky to find the entrance to this place. Once you drive up the road to the apartments building on your left drive in the carpark where you will find the restaurant.The food is very lovely and the service provided by the young waitresses also.Very very beautiful spot to take your date, do a family event or just treat your self to this lookout of the beach front.Reasonably priced and good quantities and quality.The beef salad is spot on, the basil seafood is great, I only hope the chef there to go easy on salt and garnish it with sesame seeds.

A hidden gem in Bowen. Set out on the headland this restaurant serves up tasty, well presented Chinese food. We had the fabulous roast duck in soy, the seafood with basil and veg plus a small plate of fried rice. This is also the perfect place to watch the magnificent sunsets whilst enjoying a sundowners.

The Cove advertises on Google as a Chinese restaurant, so no surprise the BBQ (Peking) Duck with Soy was awesome and the steamed rice was cooked perfectly, white, fluffy and yum.The menu also offers the usual Thai classics, but the Thai dishes (we chose green curry & Yom yum, both with Goong) had a distinct Chinese vibe... i.e. the sauces were cornstarch glazes.Great headland position and the staff were busily helpful, even though the place was packed at Christmas.

The special fried rice is anything but, last time I ordered it the ham they used was smoky, not at all palatable, and I'm baffled why it's called special, with only peas a bit of cheap ham and rice. Most dishes are lacking enough sauce. I'm local, I've tried them a few times hoping it was just a few bad nights, but no. Maybe I need the view to distract me? I always get takeaway.

The food and stunning beach views make this restaurant well worth the trip. Indoor or outdoor dining options and the food never disappoints. Our family have returned here since its opening and never had a bad experience.
