Huge serving for the platter for 2. Fed 4 of us! Fresh prawns and oysters were really tasty, too!

Food tastes good, but value for money is definitely not what they offer. We tried this place for lunch for the second time as our usual fish and chip shop has gone down hill.Unfortunately both times purchasing from here the serving sizes are TINY. We ordered $5 hot chips and it was only enough for two childrens plates. Incredibly overpriced for a handful of chips.

Very disappointing. Fish was lovely. Got large beer battered chips and 4 potato scallops. The serving of chips was small in comparison to their usual serves. Both were very overcooked. Definitely not at the usual standard.

The people were lovely so can't fault their service, but unfortunately the food was quite bad. My steak burger had excessive grizzle and was tasteless. Husband's seafood basket and chips were cooked in old oil, and looked terrible, they were overcooked The taste was very below average. We will not eat here again.

Didn’t realise it was under new management. Was the worse meal I have ever had there. Oysters had no taste what so ever, they were disgusting and had shells throughout them. Don’t get seafood from here. So unhappy with everything. Burger, fish and chips weren’t great either. Considering how the food use to be it has gone waaaaay down hill now.

FirstlyI’m reviewing the food not the people, the people are very nice. The food has to be appealing and tasty, it was neither, the chips were awful and the potato scallops had rotting potato in the middle if you could actually find any potato in it. Sorry but it’s the truth. Maybe if the new owners read this then they could learn to cut the rotten bits out of the potato’s that would be a good start.

Everything was good except when i returned to get my good the owner's son stared at me and gave me a really weird look? I'm not sure his father has instructed him yet on how to treat paying customers. The prices are a bit dear/expensive but the seafood basker seems the best bet. The scallops are nowhere near NZ quality, other than that the fish and everything else is good. Im impressed that they stock kina but its dear $37 a punnet.

Located at a small convenience plaza at Exit 49 off the Pacific Motorway. Staff were friendly, and pleasingly they were locals unlike at a lot of the fish and chip shops further south.Food was good value and fresh, I got a dinner pack with a piece of snapper, chips, salad (a few different ones to choose from), a small squeeze pack of tartare sauce, a lemon slice and a can of drink for $21.40. There is a choice of fish, snapper was the most expensive.I'd say this place is a bit of a hidden gem, all things considered. Best of luck guys, keep up the good work. The only problem here is that there were no public toilets anywhere nearby - not even at the 7/11 petrol station located next to the shops here.

My partner went and got us fish and chips last night. The fish smelt so strong and with me being pregnant he called to check what fish they gave us and the lady said Cod. Because I have never had cod before I just thought that the strong fishy smell was normal. Within 30mins I was sick and been sick since. I’ve also read that it isn’t normal for the cod fish to smell if it’s been cooked properly and if it wasn’t off. So I think if you’re going to serve seafood make sure it’s not off and also make sure it’s cooked properly. We have also since found out that it’s under new ownership which makes sense as we never had an issue with this place prior.Do better or close so you save everyone else from getting sick!!
