I feel I need to update my review on Metricon. While you do need to scream to be heard (we have had to hire lawyers ect), if you are lucky enough to reach their management team, they are mostly professional. We built our house during covid and it was a very stressful ordeal. However, now almost 6 months on after living here we found multiple superficial defects, but their area manager Stephen is very helpful and fair, and they do adhere to certain standards and will come back to fix things. Having dealt with external landscapers and pool builders afterwards definitely made me put my review in perspective. In the end, Metricon have been much more helpful and we do love our home minus a few minor issues.

Our own experience with building with Metricon in QLD has been the most regretful, most challenging, and worst experiences we have ever faced in our lifetime. It has been a very stressful time for us.We encourage anyone building with Metricon to engage a private licenced building inspector at every stage of the process. We also found once into construction stage Metricon adopted a verbal" approach and would advise to back everything up in writing from start to finish.Also

We used metricon for a new build and can recommend that if you want a home with poor quality workmanship and non-responsive service/warranty staff, then Metricon is the company for you! Staff are not helpful getting resolutions sorted and you'll end up spending hours at home waiting for tradesmen that may or may not show up to fix things they should have done properly in the first place.They fixed" one of the defects after months of emails back and forth by restaining 3 of the stairs (of the 6 that had scratches from metricon trades)

First lodged the job to fix as there was cracks appearing around the home in August 2022, Metricon sent STA engineers in Dec and their advice was to wait until June 2023 to see if there’s move movement.It’s now April 2023 and I can’t wait that long, as you see from the photos, that cracks have significantly gotten larger to a size of 6-7mm wide (Cat 3) and the stacker doors to the rear of the home have gotten sticky and extremely difficult to close and when it does close it does not align properly.There’s cracking everywhere and I’m extremely worried that the waffle slab was passed off without actually checking it hence this problem now.

Signed a contract with Metricon, the service is really slow. 6 months later, still no house has started. Then I received an email to state the base cost of the house has gone up and I am to pay the 52 thousand because they have not done their work. Stated I did not let them onto the property, there is no evidence and how did they do the soil test, no finance when I signed the contract and have paid the deposit, no finance needed - this was all given to the sales person who I signed with. The land was registered before I went to Metricon, plans sent several times. Then I get an email last month asking for the land registration. No good with record keeping or paper work. The studio section is very slow, prices are very high. Metricon delay to charge the owner a price increase due to their poor service. I was assured this would not happen but I have been lied too. I am very disgusted with the way I have been treated. Quick to take your money but have not produced anything.

Terrible Builder will give you terrible build Quality DO NOT GO WITH THIS BUILDER Metricon did poor construction of my Home, My home leaks even in minimal rain! they turned my house into Nightmare, Don't go with this Builder they have very poor quality trades specially roofers! My house not even Three months OLD! and it has defects already, Metricon Service Team will throw the Ball around rather than come and fix the issue! they don't even have a response team in back up to come and fix the defects! biggest blunder is their Construction MANAGEMENT don't have skills to inspect the properties prior handover!WARNING!!DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS BUILDER OTHER WISE THEY WILL PUSH YOU IN A LONG HOLE AND YOU WILL NEVER RECOVER!!WARNING! I am thinking to sit at front of their office with posters and start a Protest so no one can get deceived from this Builder anyone has problem with Metricon can contact me!

Our home was completed almost two years ago but we have only just finished liaising with Metricon. We love our floorplan and the home design itself but the finish has left a lot to be desired. This is our first home build in Queensland and the quality is not what we have known for Metricon in Victoria. The house was filthy when we moved in (only had a builders clean); had we known how dirty it would be, I would have organised a professional cleaner to clean through before our furniture arrived. The paintwork leaves a lot to be desired, even after numerous touch-ups. A couple of walls and window frames are not square, as discovered when fitting custom shelving and blinds.During the build we were given only short timeframes for inspection. Our site manager always rushed us as he had to get to other appointments. When we raised issues he often dismissed them and didn’t give us his full attention as we were often told that those items will be picked up by quality check (no, they were not picked up by quality check!). I would have appreciated an hour for each inspection; possible 90mins for the last one.Whilst many of our issues have finally been resolved (many after long and laborious emails, and us chasing Metricon), we have been denied one of the first issues we raised on completion of our house - that being scratches by caused by tradespeople in our main kitchen sink. When it was raised we were told to add it to our 6-month maintenance list - it was added in due course but given we didn’t add it immediately, Metricon says we caused the scratching. When moving in, there is a lot to do so the 6-month list was a constant work in progress and not a priority at the time (we had very busy jobs too as this was during the onset of the pandemic and both were critical workers).Overall, I would recommend people look at other builders if they are fussy on quality of end product and customer liaison.

Here’s “why” Metricon deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Metricon has and always will be Australia’s most reputable house building company. The past 2 years has proven challenging for all of us. We’ve ridden an emotional roller coaster ride that no one was expecting yet here we all are, — breathing and counting our blessings.Looking over the bigger picture —- Mario Biasin (the founder / CEO of Metricon) was a legendary pioneer, an Australian first class entrepreneur that created his building brand with passion and love in his heart for people. He created job opportunity for thousands and that in itself speaks volumes and this is WHY we chose to build with Metricon, — “his baby, his brand.” Mario’s employees also represent Metricon with honour. They are all amazing, kind, thoughtful, considerate, passionate and compassionate people. They don’t just build houses, they help create beautiful homes for their people and with that … lifestyle becomes the forefront of forever lasting memoirs that go down in Australian history. The execution on their homes is unbeatable and I can’t thank Metricon enough for all their undivided efforts. Thank you Metricon. We absolutely love our new home. You’ve done an outstanding and professional job. And to Sarah Nunn our original contact that helped to design this beautiful home. You are a fine example of the Metricon Brand. Avoid at all costs. I was coerced, deceived and lied to in order to sign a build contract with Metricon QueenslandThe sales people have blatantly lied in order to rush me in to signing a contract. They made offers in writing which they are now not willing to honour.They took over 3 months to supply a variation which was purposely done to ensure construction would start after the required build date. They are now charging me late fees for their incompetency.They are completely unwilling to honour written promises made and also unwilling to accept responsibility got their own delays.Please do yourself a favour and avoid Metricon at all costs.

If I could give this company negative stars I would , had a home built in 2020 and still chasing standard home warranty things to be fixed . Build quality very poor . The amount of problems this home had from handover , walls as bent as Elton J the list is huge.Big issue is with the service team and quality of trades they send out some not even qualified tradesman .Anyway I would not recommend them what so ever !!
