Irene Byrne & Co Antique Jewellery

Quite upsetting and frankly rude service from Irene.Used to love this shop when in Blackheath, but now things seem to have changed.I visited during the week to have my Grandmothers broach looked at as we are hoping to have it made in to a ring. The gentlemen who served me was helpful, but wasn’t able to provide me any advice on the broach, or the diamonds and advised me to come in on a weekend to see Irene as she is the only one who can grade the diamonds.So I came by on a weekend with it and another ring I wanted repaired. Waited over half an hour to talk to Irene about it (and was happy to keep waiting..). Eventually the gentleman suggested coming in later in the day to which I agreed, however Irene jumped in to say she doesn’t have time on the weekends as they are too busy.. so don’t come in later.. To which I commented that she is ONLY in the store on weekends.. and no one else in the store can seem to help me. She just apologised.. So, basically, she can’t and won’t help me, not on a weekend, or weekday.. thanks for nothing. All is well, my business will go elsewhere from now on!

Shopping at Irene Byrne & Co is a magical experience. As soon as you enter the store, you are greeted with smiling faces and a welcoming atmosphere. The store is presented beautifully, with sparkling jewels displayed in elegant glass cases. The staff at Irene Byrne & Co are knowledgeable and ready to answer all questions. There is no pressure put on you, as the staff are happy for you to browse freely. I would highly recommend Irene Byrne & Co for your next jewellery purchase.

Amazing collection of jewellery. Irene is friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful. And her dog Lucy is pretty cute too.

This store is a hidden gem ! (No pun intended). Irene (and her little helper Lucy) is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about antique jewelry. This store is a treasure trove and the prices are reasonable given the historical value of most of the jewelry sold. Even newer pieces are sold at honest prices. Irene was a pleasure to be around and I’m definitely coming back to see her !

Beautiful shop. Amazing customer service and staff were very friendly and helpful with questions we had. We left with a stunning ring and smiles on our faces. Would recommend to pop in to the shop, sooo many unique pieces! Will be back.
