Oaks Hervey Bay Resort and Spa

Very spacious rooms with ample storage space. The spa bath was definitely a bonus and came in handy after a long work day.The only disappointment was that the pool was not in use on hot summer days.

Amazing location, great views, lots in walking distance, room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was a highlight, as was the spa bath. Pools were closed (but we knew that before booking) and it was a slight inconvenience getting to reception compared with when the pools weren't under renovations, but this was a minor issue and did nothing to spoil how much we enjoyed our stay.

Booked nine months ago and was phoned one working day before arrival to be informed the pool still was out of action. Should have let me know way before and given an option to cancel. Walk outside to the front requires a walk around dusty outside corridors with a view of corrugated iron outside . They expect people coming to check the website regularly for pool updates, cynical and ridiculous. I didn’t lose it … obviously lots of customers have because there is a prominent notice at the front desk saying bad language will not be tolerated. Room service from Bayswater was good.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very dissatisfied with my experience. The room was not clean, with spider webs in the corners. The wifi was terrible, and I had difficulty connecting to the internet. The customer service was also poor; we had to go to the reception desk to get anything we needed. The room was supposed to have a dishwasher, but there was none. We were asked to put the dishes in the dishwasher, but there was no dishwasher in the unit.More importantly, I asked and PAID for a room with an ocean view, but I did not get one.

Room 20 (single room apartment)was a lovely big room & was suitable for someone with a disability. Ground floor room that leads directly to the pool (no wheelchair access from room to pool). Large bathroom fitted with hand rails, no showerscreen so easy access for wheelchair. Has a spa bath. Lovely & comfy big king size bed. Japanese style sliding doors to separate lounge room from bedroom if needed. Staff were friendly & helpful.

Had a lovely room overlooking ocean (apartment 101), big patio with outside table/chairs. Bed was huge and very very comfortable so we're the pillows. Overall it was really nice, a few extra kitchen items would have been handy especially when there is a microwave. Easy access to street, pool was closed for renovation, we week have to go back when it's done.

Very disappointed this stay. Booked a pool room. Arrived to find pool was under repair and closed, once I complained we were upgraded to an ocean view which was appreciated. Though we would have stayed elsewhere had we known the pool was out of order. The lady on reception said “it’s all over our website” at further inspection it is in tiny writing at the bottom of the front page. Maybe red writing when booking, would be a little less hidden. The room was very tired with ripped curtains, stains on the carpet in the bedroom (yes- one can only assume what they could be) right near the bed. Ants in the kitchen, lounge room and bathroom, the internet was absolutely useless, banging and hammering in the next room. We have stayed here before and it was amazing. It definitely needs updating and some money spent. I did inform the office manager on check out but she managed to excuse and dismiss every complaint.On a positive, the pub and cafe down stairs were both amazing meals and service.The bed was comfy and the position of the resort is great. I can’t say I will rush back until this resort gets the update it desperately needs.

Disappointed to be phoned two days before arrival about the pool .... we have a young kid and would have cancelled. Maybe you should call as soon as you get a booking as the pool has been out of action for over 10 months. Surprised there isn't a deluge of 1-star reviews over this, you've done well managing the reviews!

Our stay was an anniversary celebration. We were kindly upgraded to a lovely room with a big balcony and gorgeous view. Generously, there was a lovely hand-written card, a bottle of wine and some chocolate.The bed was extremely comfortable and we had great sleeps. The view was gorgeous.While there, the pool was closed for renovations, but we were contacted immediately after booking to inform us of this, which was appreciated.Great location, convenient underground parking and a decent restaurant/bar on site.
