Billabong Motel Gunnedah

Dirty, horrible place, most certainly the low light of our entire journey. Beds had blankets pulled up clearly not made, shower had towels in it from the previous Tenant on the floor along with carpets that looked like they had not been cleaned in at least 10 years, you know the sort of carpets you are afraid to walk on without shoes. I would say stay anywhere else, and if all else fails sleep in your car over this joint.Response to Owner's reply:No not true, I went down and told the owner, she sent her daughter up to our room to collect the old towel, and did nothing more. The room was still a dirty mess, you did nothing and just didn't care.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT - Thank you for the reviews, we are the new managers since 24/1/22 and the motel has undergone extensive maintenance and cleaning. Our apologies to those people who have stayed in the past and had a bad experience. We look forward to doing everything possible to make your stay enjoyable.

We stayed 2 nights here, room was clean, neat and tidy, lady on reception desk was amazing, nothing was a problem. Would definitely stay again when up this way.

I have stayed at the Billabong Motel in Gunnedah with my Rhodesian Ridgeback and the owners have always been very welcoming of myself and my dog. The rooms are always clean and my dog is welcome to sleep in the room. I can walk my dog around the motel land and there are parks to walk my dog within 400 metres. The showgrounds for dog shows are only 1km away. Plenty of take away shops and the bowls club is virtually next door for meals :). Fabulous location for anyone wanting to stay central.

What a lovely surprise! Very clean, comfortable and lovely owners who were more than helpful and made us feel comfortable before we even entered our room!

Pros - Easy check in, friendly staff member, great off street parking, toaster, kettle, microwave, air con, cutlery plates, mugs, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits etcCons - a clock radio alarm went off most of the night by the morning it had stopped. a cricket jumped into bed ha ha some people may not like that but at least there is bug spray available. some of the free to air tv channels didn't work.The pillows were too soft.

An older establishment but was clean & reasonably spacious. The air con worked fine, the bed was comfortable & the shower was hot. A short walk to the club & shops.

We highly recommend staying at the Billabong Motel. The room was clean and was well equipped. The shampoo provided in the bathroom was one of the nicest I’ve used. I met the new owner and she was so accommodating when I had visitors who wanted to use the pool. She delivered fresh towels to the room. For the price of this motel, the service and accommodation is definitely value for money. Thank you, for a nice stay Billabong Motel. We will definitely be back.

Never again returning to this place, took money out of my account without permission.When I rang to ask why money as been taking lady on the phone was VERY RUDE disrespectful.And hung up on me.
