Punthill Apartment Hotels | Spring Hill

I booked this one as it looked classy and clean online and figured it would be for the price. The experience was the compete opposite from the moment I entered the lift. It is very run down. The dark carpet in the hallway and room is utter mank and has white sticky globs dotted around the room that seemed like some kind of body fluid. The tap in the shower came off in my hand, the block out curtains were off hooks at one end and couldn;t be closed and the constant noise of next door showers, slamming doors, people talking and dragging furniture in rooms above and below me till late at night and again from 5am made the experience feel like I was at a back packer hostel in the Bronx. It was nothing like advertised online and something I would expect from a $50 per night room. Not the price I actually paid.

So the good things were the bed was comfy and the room was pretty niceBad things - no view, toilet screeched the entire time it was refilling, $30 for parking, I accidentally left a dress behind and it took them 12 days to get back to me then charged me $20 to return it. There is no view. 1 elevator.. very limited parking… staff were initially unhelpful until prodded and then became helpful… so generally I’d give it a 4/10.Seen worse.. seen better

There were multiple issues throughout our stay and my partner and I left early to go to another hotel. I am aware that Punthill are currently undergoing renovations, and I appreciate the challenges associated with this. However, I do feel that our experience was unacceptable. Our allocated apartment smelt strongly of fresh paint, had paint splatters on the carpet, no cupboard, and a loud sound when the toilet was flushed. We requested to move to another apartment, which was granted. We spent one night in that subsequent apartment, and were woken at 6am to tradespeople sanding the wall in the room next to us. Punthill staff then asked us to move apartments, because the apartment that they had shifted us into was to be painted over the weekend. In our third apartment, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes from the previous guests. We were kept up until almost 2am by a loud event in the apartment next to us, and threatened by one of those guests when we asked them to quieten down. We had to call the after hours Punthill number to request security attendance. We were fed up by this point and switched to another hotel. We won’t stay at Punthill in Brisbane again.

Second stay at this hidden gem, and as always the rooms are so much better than expected. This time though, Yen on reception really stood out and delivered the most outstanding customer service, was personable and really took the time to connect with all the guests. His attention to detail, personality and humour really made the stay that little bit extra! What an asset to the hotel. Thanks again team, see you on the next trip!

Stayed her when we moved to Brisbane until we could find a rental. Enjoyed our stay really good location and lovely staff who were always happy to help and greet with a smile. Only issue was that being on level 2 meant we had a lot of ash and cigarettes on our balcony. Other than that we were very happy with our stay :)

Just disappointing the whole way through.It is worth noting that they are in the midst of a refurbishment, but this still doesn’t excuse the issues.Extremely unclean from the refurbishment, paint splatters and dust everywhere.Was awoken at 6am to workers starting their days work in the room next door.Moved to another room for the second night, and was kept awake by loud individuals in the hallway after midnight, and alas there is no one on site after 9am to discuss this with, so a call was made to an after hours number who stated security would attend but unsure if this occurred.We then discovered the following morning that the dishwasher was still full of dirty dishes from the previous guests.Decided after those two nights that we had had enough and moved to far better accommodation.The reception staff member who checked us in was friendly and tried to make things as good as possible, so I can’t fault that.

I've been in a lot of hotels of recent and moat of them weren't even worth rating but this place went above and beyond in all aspects. Best place I've stayed by far in a long time

Boutique hotel with only a small number of rooms.I get the impression all rooms are identical. They are a very comfortable studios with a comfortable king size bed. Plenty or storage space for luggage and clothing. The rooms are starting to feel there age but still extremely comfortable. Only negative things I can say about the place is there is only one lift so getting in and out could be an issue if it’s busy and the bathroom while tidy and functional is on the small side. Overall experience was okay. My partner and I quite liked the swimming pool which was very relaxing. However, the elevator was incredibly slow and had to wait for several minutes at times. Some times it did not work and had to use the steps. The room we stayed in didn't seem very clean. We noticed lots of dust in many places which was questionable. The shower vent was incredibly disgusting. The grout between the tiles appeared very dirty in certain areas. The sheet on the bed wasn't very fitted and many times during the night it had come off and I was resting on the mattress. Had to fix multiple times during our stay. We stayed about one week and only got new bed sheets / new towels once during our stay. Also the wallpaper was peeling off and the balcony curtains did not close all the way and had to use a clothes hanger to keep the curtains together. Otherwise staff were incredibly friendly. I feel like this place has alot more potential, however cleanliness was questionable.

Where to start? The check in experience was below average in terms of no information, no smile, just a key and your room is on level two. The parking is $25 per night which is a rip off. There are multiple parking places on the same street. We paid $14 across the road. The paint peeling off the wall, tiles coming up, bathroom door didn't close, curtains didn't close all the way, balcony door required two hands and a bit of strength to get open, terrible room. The photos look nice but must be from a very long time ago. Also we were in 203, our balcony was the bottom one so everyone else ashing cigarettes and so on ended on our balcony, including a childs sock. Something that is clearly not cleaned very often. Lifts terrible. I'd grade the service but there was none... Sorry guys but you need to value your clients and your property more than you do.
