As a Brit I am waiting hopefully of visiting Australia again soon (QANTAS 16 hours direct London to Perth). I loved Echuca last time (2017) and would certainly stay at the Steam Packet Inn again on my next visit. Slightly eccentric, utterly charming, a fantastic location, and run by lovely people; it is a great place to stay even if the bathrooms are on the small size. Proper breakfasts too!

My 3yo kid was busting to go to toilet so we asked the owner if we can use their toilet for the emergency and was turned down. What kind of adult would turn down a 3yo kid who needs to go to the toilet?!? If that’s their attitude then I can’t imagine how good their business attics are.

Overpriced. Luckily our bags were small. Ensuite was tired and tiny. Bed was comfy and aircon good but way too expensive for what we expected. Better value elsewhere.

Wonderfully quaint rooms and fabulous breakfasts. Very clean and I loved the community sun room/reading room upstairs. Only down side is the reception which is only open in the morning but front door locked after 11am and nobody answers the phone after 3pm on a Friday or gets back to you if you leave a message either.

140 year old building at the entrance to the historic old Port of Echuca. Cosy room with ensuite, very comfy bed, small table and chairs, enough elbow room for two people and all their luggage, large TV, A/C. Excellent cooked breakfast, cereals, fruits, OJ, coffee, tea, toast, crumpets, muffins,what a great start to the day!

Location great, check-in was simple and straight forward, room was comfortable and ok for the price, although the bathroom was too small. BUT, had to sleep in an unmade bed because when we pulled the covers back there were red stains on the sheets. Could've been blood, who knows? No staff in existence so never had the chance to complain or have it rectified.Edit: no regard from the owner/manager when we raised our concerns, which is really poor. Down another star.

Quaint place with some rooms upgraded with authentic Victorian fixtures and fittings. A nice change from generic, modern hotels.Sarah is warm and helpful. Homely breakfast room with eggs cooked as you like them and a good choice of bread, muffins, crumpets and condiments.Will definitely stay here if returning to Echuca.

Great place for a quick stop over, nice room and a decent bed with good sheets. Nice bathrooms and little details like plunger coffee, tea and cookies. The only issue was the room was sold as river view but definitely couldn't see the river.

We love this place , a very helpful and friendly owner , great room with compy bed . Very close to Wharf and Paddle steamers , just a great location . Very tasty breakfast package . Can't recommend highly enough .
