South Passage Beach House

Best location at Straddie. One of the few places that you can actually walk to the beach which is excellent when you're travelling in a group or with a family. House Is great, plenty of beds and front deck is awesome for subset drinks. Can't wait to visit again!

So much room! There was a bed for everyone at this house. I loved that it is just a short stroll to Home Beach where the whole beach is off-lead… my pups’ happy place. Detached bungalow out the back was perfect for some down time and privacy and kangaroo spotting in the bush out the window was a bonus! I love the relaxed comfort of this home. Front deck awesome for “sun-downers’”. Recommend a drive to Brown Lake (no dogs allowed though), It’s a little piece of paradise…

This is a cracking place for a cracking holiday that you will want to return to over and over again. Very comfortable, spacious, modern kitchen and laundry, close to beaches and the Gorge walk. Great front deck for sharing a meal or taking in the peace and tranquillity. Also enjoyed the occasional kangaroo visit. Love South Passage Beach House for a Straddie holiday, it’s a must stay.

South Passage is a gorgeous property with all the extras that made our stay on Straddie even more special. My husband and I have stayed here with our family a number of times and we have always had the most incredible experience (Koala's, Kangaroo, birds, birds, and more birds). The house was big enough for our large family holiday but also felt cozy and made our smaller gatherings feel intimate and also celebratory. The outside deck area is one of my top spots to view the water and connect with my favorite people. On one of our trips, we got to stay in the detached pavilion and absolutely loved it. Comfort and privacy yet close enough to the family that we still felt connected and part of the party! We also loved being able to take a short walk down to the waters. Can't wait to get back to Straddie and enjoy more times at this lovely home! Thanks for making it so special!

My family has stayed at this home many times. To be able to walk 400m to the flagged beach at Flinders is great, the off leash dog beach is so close too. We have a large family and we all fit in very comfortably. The kitchen is extremely well equiped for entertaining large numbers and the commercial ice-maker makes summer picnics on the beach so easy! Much more than a 'renter' it feels like a real home away from home. We will be back for sure.

My family regard South Passage Beach House to be the best place to holiday on the east coast. It really ticks all of the boxes. Pet friendly, a very safe and measured 387 metres to a great beach.The house just opens up to make you comfortable whichever room you find yourself in.The deck at the front of house offers the most peacefull and yet exciting place to see the natural beauty of whales going north and returning south. A must place to visit again.

Ideal location and spacious for 2 families to holiday together . Studio attached so was great to escape kids at times and have adult drinks watching sunset from veranda with kangaroos jumping past . Flinders beach literally 400m away and flagged .House was extremely well stocked with easy to use bbq on front deck to feed the hordes !We will go back

One of the best multi use rental beach houses on Straddie. Whether a quiet weekend for a couple or 3 families at once this house is perfect for a Straddie stay. I have been holidaying on the island for just on 40 years and have stayed in most of the properties. What I like about this one is its proximity to the beach if you want to easily walk down to Adder Rock or Home beach while also having a view from the deck. Normally you get one or the other. It has a cooks kitchen with 3 fridges and can sleep a few families. The bungalow out the back is great for those wanting some quieter time from the main house. Backing onto the nature reserve means you are greeted by the local kangaroos and the birdlife gently wake you in the mornings. Being able to bring our dogs and leave them in a secure yard is a bonus.

I have enjoyed many weekends away at this great Straddie beach house. It’s a big comfortable home that can easily accommodate two families or a large group of friends. It’s conveniently located within a short walk or drive to some of the best beaches on North Stradboke Island, the local pub and Point Lookout Village. The home backs onto native bush land so the the surrounding area is teaming withwildlife.
