PUMMA Tweed

I was originally interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for it's philosophy and approach to 'martial arts'. I really lucked out when I contacted PUMMA at Tweed first to explore undertaking BJJ. I wasn't looking for the hyper-masculine environment one might expect at a martial arts gym. The coach (Adrian) and the other guys who train there have been nothing but welcoming and encouraging, there aren't egos, nor pride on the line. The environment was nothing like I (or you) might have anticipated. Everyone is there to have fun and learn new skills. Highly recommended.

I was looking to introduce more focus and discipline into my 7year old son's week, was looking for an appropriate martial art and I was super lucky stumbling across PUMMA in South Tweed!Owner/trainer Adrian is passionate about his craft and amongst regular training, runs the young Mountain Lions" -MMA lessons for kids. Being on the wrong side of 40 I wasnt sure if I starting BJJ was for me. Coach Adrian has created a welcoming and safe environment where all ages can feel comfortable to learn. Being a contact sport Adrian makes sure ego's are checked and fun is the number one concern so everyone can enjoy all this sport has to offer for many years. Coming from other martial arts I find Adrian's instruction is very thorough and tailored to your needs. I have been a member for a couple of years and my son also trains with me.

I have also spend many years coaching MMA and Self Defence in Burringbar NSW.When it comes to quality coaching and consistently fun lessons this is the place that has kept me coming back for more. Top notch BJJ and MMA coaching help me develop skills in a way that have always kept the learning fun. Coach Adrian (BJJ Black Belt and veteran of the the sport) inspires me to improve my own coaching as well as perform my best as a lifelong student of the game. This club is incredibly welcoming and supportive of beginners whilst maintaining top notch coaching to all experience levels. Check it out. You may just get addicted too.

I had been contemplating starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for about a year. I had never practiced any form of martial arts, so my fear of the unknown, was my only fear. This feeling completely dissolved within my first 1 hour class(2016). I was immediately made to feel welcome and there was never a shortage of someone willing to help.Coach Adrian teaches in a way that is both fun, yet challenging. There is no regiment, no egos and we are encouraged to be creative, free thinkers. It's now 2 years on and my only regret is not joining the PUMMA family 10 years ago.!! Don't put it off like i did, get involved! I can't recommend this club enough!! Much love.

My personal experience with Pumma tweed has been nothing other than incredible, The people are always ready to help and are actively striving to improve you and themselves.
