General electrical repairs. Replace a PowerPoint. Install a new PowerPoint. Change a led light fitting. Replace a faulty bedside lamp switch. $650. No problems with the work, but VERY expensive.

James is the only electrician I (a retired electrician myself) would call. He is knowledgeable, honest and is a pleasure to have around.

We had a single RCD replaced with multiple RCDs (one to protect each circuit) by a local electrician (one of the big ones) who installed them incorrectly. This caused a short that destroyed two of the RCDs leaving us without power on a very cold weekend. After unsuccessfully trying to contact the company that installed them, I luckily came across Active Electrical from a Google search. James agreed to come out (on a Saturday) and had the power back on in no time. He very clearly knew what he was doing and he is also super friendly and trustworthy. Finding James was the silver lining to a balls-up that could have burnt our house down. We will definitely be using Active Electrical again. Thanks very much mate!!

I've hired James a number of times and am happy with his work. Very nice guy and very obliging, always makes sure he understands what you want and offers good options. Oh, and he is one of the increasingly rare breed in that he turns up on time and is a good communicator.

James put in an outside power point so I can charge my electric car and also installed an extra socket for the tv antenna. All done without a fuss, including climbing into roof cavity! Thank you for your efficiency.
