The meaning of this and story makes this place a great place to visit. We came on Anzac Day that made us feel more emotional. They have a small shed that you can purchase souvenirs from.

Would totally recommend you pop out to Legerwood and speak to the volunteers who help keep this memorial in great shape. The rail should definitely make a comeback.

Worth dropping by to take a look as it is not far from the highway. The very impressive thing is that these are craved from rooted trees. Pictures don't do enough justice as compared to videos. It is a memorial that honours brave soldiers who passed away in war which I believe it should be WW1. This place gives a sentimental feeling with hinge of sadness. There is parking spaces and restrooms beside the memorial.

What a great place to visit and an artisitic way to pay homage and respect to our brave soldiers past, present and future. Theres a nice building full of souvenirs and anzac biscuits. All this in the nice panoramic area of Legerwood. Definetly worth the visit if you're in the area!

Loved looking at the tree carvings & the history behind each of the carvings, what a beautiful way to remember those who went to war but not returned,

What talent to beable to do that to tree stumps. There are toilets and park benches with tables, but not much else, so take your own lunch or refreshments.

9 trees were planted in 1916 to commemorate WWI fallen soldiers but when these trees were considered unsafe in 2001 and were condemned to be removed, a local man, Eddie Freeman, carved the likeness of the soldiers on the tree stumps. Very touching memorial and a lovely place to stop.
