I broke down in Altona on a Sunday. On the Monday I was able to have it towed to ATR Automotive, in Altona North, and despite the short notice, said they would try to have a look at it as soon as they could fit me in. I didn’t know what was wrong, and Trav didn’t tell me, but he was able to get a part and get me going again the next day, at a cost that I was happy to pay. A well presented workshop, and a good owner running the show. Would recommend!

Not only is he genuine and clear about what they do – and why – he presents as someone who cares about their customers and relationships. I have used their services and referred them to others I know. Both myself and my referrals have found them to be diligent with their follow up, reliable, value for money, knowledgeable and also very likeable!

No doubt the best mechanic I have ever been to for a service. I will definitely be back! Travis is very kind and professional, and didn't charge me for anything unnecessary which I've had issues with in the past at other places. Absolute legend!

I can only concur with Brooke's review in terms of the professionalism of this place.When we took our vehicle in for a replacement of our auto transmission we were told that it wouldn't be a problem and that a third party would be able to fix it.Upon return of the car we were told that the transmission would make some noise for a week and then it would wear in and it would sound as good as new.Unfortunately the issue did not resolve itself and this is where things took a downward spiral.Phone call after phone call, email after email and only after a one star google review did the management return my call. The management claimed they did not receive any calls nor did they receive any emails. While on a call management mysteriously found the emails in their junk mail. Still very confused how the multiple calls left on the mobile and work answering machine were missed.Management agreed to take the car and would source a reconditioned transmission which I agreed to. However upon return of my vehicle to ATR, communication stopped. AGAIN, no response to calls or emails by ATR. Only when we used a silent number would the manager answer his phone.After taking management of ATR to VACC to have some form of mediation the manager's mood declined even further. We were threatened with defamation of character (it's actually libel) for posting our google review which was entirely accurate and was our individual experience.The manager only agreed to proceed with the work if we agreed to take down the review. Which we did. Overall the experience of having our transmission fixed took 3 months, countless arguments and the stress of wondering if our car would be repaired.There have been other negative reviews here (since taken down) and I spoke with one who said they agreed to take theirs down after the manager agreed to pay for the damage he had done while repairing an issue.It is not for me to make any representation to their work ethic. This is purely my own experience. It does seem to follow the track record of other recent reviews.I am sure like other reviews the manager will refute what I say and perhaps even pretend he doesn't know who I am. But I can assure you this representation of what occurred is entirely accurate.Reply:Do damaged rims come to mind? Do I need to tell that story here as well? I searched for them via social media and got their story as evidence. I'm happy to make contact with them again if you wish? Got any more questions buddy?You did offer a warranty and it was limited due to the nature of the repairs. So that's why we accepted the job. Happy to produce the receipt and post here if you like??The only thing you have correct in your reply is that you aren't perfect. As evidenced by the past 3 reviews. You're far from perfect.I did call you on a private number and I have the phone logs to prove it. I kept those as well. Anything else you wanna bring up ....??

Recently needed a fair amount of repair done on my car, that a dealer service centre quoted me through the nose and a long wait time on parts. After a quick google search and recommendation from a friend, I called up Trav and the team at ATR Automotive and was greeted with some of the most friendly customer service I've experienced with a mechanic before. As a girl I have been taken advantage of in the past or had my concerns ignored, but Trav was extremely kind and willing to explain all the details every step of the way. Come time for the service, I was booked in quickly and even given the option of a payment service so I could make smaller payment instalments since it was a bigger job. My car is now running super smooth and feels back to what she should be again. Thank you Trav and ATR Automotive Team, I look forward to seeing you for my next service.

Had an A/C belt replaced on my 4WD, as well as a roadworthy inspection. 3 weeks to do the work, no communication at all - I actually had to walk myself down there twice to find out what was going on with my car. When they completed the work, I took it home to find it drove worse than when it was dropped off. So I took it to another mechanic that I trust but is a lot further from home, this mechanic replaced more than just the A/C belt that was requested, AND put the wrong belts on??? Could go on and on about the unprofessionalism of this workshop, but I’d be writing an essay. Not worth the time and money.

I took my car to ATR Automotive after finding them in a google search and giving them a call to discuss the cost and time required to have my exhaust replaced.Their workshop was spotless, they were extremely busy but very efficient. Trav estimated he'd have the job done by 3pm and he would call when done. True to his word Trav rang. On pickup there was no additional unexpected costs and I will be returning next week to have my car serviced.I highly recommend Trav and ATR Automotive without hesitation. I have already been telling my friends and work colleagues about the great service, communication and attention to detail (including a complimentary cool bottle of water on a hot day) .
