On The Beach Holiday Apartments

The main office is located on the Esplanade, the lady that runs the office is very nice and helpful. We booked a transfer from the airport to the accommodation with the office. The transfer stopped at the office so we can collect the keys then took us around to the accommodation. Please note if you choose the ocean view 2bedroom, the apartment blocks are located on the street behind, so about 70m away. You need to either drive up to them as if you have luggage you can’t haul it up the hill or the steep staircase. These blocks have no lift I think only one of the blocks did. The apartment itself was spacious and the balcony was great and you can hear the ocean, however it needed an upgrade. The furniture and bedding was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever come across in Cairns. You could not sit on the sofa, the springs were long gone and it was lumpy, the beds were so uncomfortable and so were the pillows. The dining table chairs were also very uncomfortable to sit on, you had to put a cushion on the chair to sit. The carpet was stained as well and the sofa needed a good vacuuming in between the sofa seats.The location was great, there are 3 or 4 places to eat all very good, there is a bus stop nearby and you can take the bus to Cairns CBD, we went a few times, you can walk to a small shopping mall with a small supermarket for small extras, there is a convenience shop on the esplanade but it’s extremely expensive. When you check out ensure you are picked up from the apartment you are staying at as if you have luggage like we did and we were going to be picked up at a later time from the office area, you will need to bring down your own bags. There is a steep staircase that links the top apartments to the office area, so you need to carry your luggage down the stairs in the complex then down the steep staircase that links the top of the road to the office or roll them down the road all the way to the office. If you have small carry on you will be fine, otherwise you need to book a lower apartment. Overall the location is great nice and relaxing, the place itself (we stayed in Golden Cowrie complex) is dated and needs the furniture replaced.

Great location, friendly staff. Plenty parking. Would return if given the opportunity.

Nice location ,sadly not was promised while bookingMentioning at time of booking that due to recently injuries ,first floor with stairs only and luggage unable to carry on stairs as such, totally unacceptable.Neither the very bad old mattress , no walking in shower , shower bath only with no grab rail , neither grab rails in the pool, being unsafe and a problem when requested and made aware while booking!The curtains have mildew and lots of hooks missing, couch certainly has had its better days and is sagging, with stained crockery , sticky kitchen bench residue of many hairs on floors and even in fridge , my feet were stained while walking on the room tilesThe manager’s comments: “Go and stay elsewhere if you don’t like it here”Yes definitely next time Thanks Gerald

Great choice for our stay, large 3 bedroom apartment, good price, great views 22km from Cairns and close to skyrail and Kuranda rail, and around 55 km to Port Douglas

Great location over the road from the beach and not far to go for shops and restaurants.

Rooms abit worn but location is outstanding, everything is clean and lady at the front desk was so accommodating and kind. Will definitely stay here again and be recommending to others

I was tempted to give 5 stars but I’m holding off 1 star for the slightly-dated interior and AC (although the centralised AC was working well and was very comfortable). Otherwise I’d give 5 stars for the sheer size of the apartment and it’s spectacular location (we stayed in the 3-Bedroom apartment complex with beach facing balcony). The security lock on the ground floor main entrance door was a bit annoying ( the key needs to be turned with the door pulled and both action needs to match a certain position for the key to turn fully and unlock the door to enter the building…..as if like they show in movies where thieves manipulate the movements of a vault dial lock to hear THAT click and they smile claiming to have cracked the lock…..LOL)

This is a hard one... the location is fantastic - right on Trinity Beach, with excellent restaurants and facilities nearby. The apartment on first impression was excellent - large, well equipped, clean... unfortunately, after turning the AC on water started to pour from it, called reception and was told to come and get some towels, which we did, the manager obviously wanted to get home (even though there was still 1.5hrs left of opening hours) as he said nothing he could do until monday (we arrived friday afternoon), said have a nice weekend and shut the door! By this time, the room was boiling (35 outside), went back to reception, and was given pretty short shrift. I was told to crank the bedroom ones up, and it would be fine - it wasn't! Tried to log on to the WiFi- no info anywhere - we were told there was a welcome letter in the room - there wasn't. Back to reception.. manager told me to reboot it and then locked the door and shouted, Back open at 8am tomorrow."In Summery: description states...Secure parking - gate broken

Comfy apartment, great location on the beach a great Italian restaurant right next door. Unit could use a tiny bit of love though.

Very well appointed apartment with everything you need. Such a relaxing and 'beachy feel' atmosphere. So close to the beach and the main street.
